Also worth noting that you should never cross the canyon (the dangerous place in 10000m) with a lot of loot because I've lost around 150-250 caps worth of stuff after the guys with guns destroyed it. If you do have weapons though I suggest clearing all the enemies first. If you don't, you should return back to the nearest shop and sell the loot.
