You can remove the door guard trim by removing the rubber gasket to reveal the screws that attach to the car, i dont remeber how many but theres like 4 or 5, once those are off you can unclip the rubber weather grommet and leave it hanging or something. The rear quarter panel trim piece i believe is glued on and cant be removed unless you have the glass replaced (i could be wrong), i would tuck tape behide it as if you were wrapping the car.

single stage has no clear that's why its called single stage. If you were to get a multi-stage that would include a clear coat. No single stage has clear on it.

I just had MAACO do my '06 mustang. I paid $1200 for minor body repair, same color but single stage. My biggest complaint since it was metallic was the tiger striping on the hood. They redid the hood last Monday, it was slightly better, but no where near what it should be and I did not expect factory quality. They rushed big time. Only took 1.5 hours to redo the hood.

Single stage paints don't handle the sun well at all.( no uv protection that is in clearcoat) It'll fade fast and get chalky. Also most single stage paints are enamel which is oil based, so if later you decided to do a basecoat clearcoat paintjob which is urethane based it will react.

@@gilbertsanchezz3107 im sure this may not be feasible for but if you had the space and an air compressor you could get a cheapy harbor freight spray gun and do it yourself. There is a website www.thecoatingstore.com that sells full car kits with base coat and clear coat for very reasonable and everything I've seen on their paint says its good stuff. I plan on buying a pearl white base coat from them when I paint my truck. The satisfaction you get from doing it yourself can't be beat. Other than that the cheapest you can get for a base coat clear coat paint job would be maaco or earl schieb. Both are hit or miss and for the full base coat clear coat job it'll be much more than he paid. I had a car once that thw previous owner had painted at earl schieb. The rear drivers side quarter had deep sanding scratches that were clearly visible through the base and clear. I washes it one day and notices the front bumper was dirty. Kept scrubbing and the realized it was going to come off because the dirt was literally under the clearcoat😂. It literally looked like the road grime you get on the side of your car from driving down the road after it has rained and then dried up on the side of your car.

Maaco has nationwide pricing. He was probably talking about the deluxe basecoat clearcoat including some bodywork fixed like dings and dents. What he had done in the video is literally a single stage where they scuff the car down and spray a single stage basecoat.

That's what I'm sayin... how much effort to cover things like headlights with saran wrap, cut back around the edges, then frame the edges with painters tape. The entire area is protected and the painter will most likely put all their efforts into an evenly sprayed quality paint job, knowing they ain't gotta worry about lines, although it doesn't seem to be of any concern to them already haha
