I recommend experimenting with different cold email templates and adding more details than you would for a cold email because you can't send follow up messages until the person replies to your first LinkedIn message. I've found something like this has been effective: I saw you're {Title} at {Company} (or Congrats on {recent event}). [Sentence about a connection we have: mutual connection, worked at the same company in the past, in the same LinkedIn Group, etc.] [What I do as a freelancer]. [Highlight recent project I did that's relevant to their Company]. [How I can do something similar for the Company and the value proposition]. [If possible, metrics of the value OR link to the project]. Are you or someone from your team available for a quick call in the coming weeks? [Link to calendar]
