@DymoLo There used to be a program called Dead By Daylight Icon Toolbox that was used to download and upload custom icons/portraits/etc but the creator decided to stop supporting it, don't remember why. Nightlight basically does the same thing now with some useful extra features the Icon Toolbox didn't have

I love this about DBD! Being able to express yourself even in a small way through the hud makes your experience a lot more unique. It does suck though when your favorite icon pack is slow to update to the newest chapter or it stops getting updated all together

funny timing actually, im currently working on a piece of software to automatically package custom made perk icons into the right folder's with the right names etc all at the click of 1 button, im not trying to advertise or anything like that, was just cool to see multiple people thinking about the same subject

Just as a heads-up: The icon names on the Wiki are quite often renamed before we upload them, since the devs are anything but consistent with their naming conventions and we like to keep things consistent on the Wiki. While a good part of the Perks fill fit the "iconPerks_perkName.png" format, some are not in camel case ("PerkName.png"), have a different initial ("iconsPerks"), or use their WIP name that is completely different to their current in-game name.

I've been using custom icons for many years, it's fun. Be careful when updating - right around updates to EAC, which does happen every now and then, some people have (very rarely) been caught in dragnets and gotten themselves banned because the game thinks you're trying to edit something extra. Typically, though, inconsistencies will just mean you get booted from the game and need to verify your install, and either scenario is extremely rare.

@@radioboy717 I'm not Pebsie, but EAC flagging an account means you're getting banned by their system, not by BHVR: they can't help you. It's still a reality in pretty much any game where the anti-cheat is a license, rather than handled in-house, including DBD - I wouldn't worry though. Most people who got/get banned are getting flagged for interfering with model textures, not icons.

I know I'm a little late to the video, but this also works on the GamePass version of the game, all you have to do is know where it's installed, or uninstall & install an easy to find folder e.g. I've installed mine on D:\XboxGames\Dead By Daylight, so the folder is D:\XboxGames\Dead By Daylight\Content\DeadByDaylight\Content\UI\Icons\Perks I'm yet to see if Nightlight works on both Steam & GamePass versions (I've got both installed), or if it gets mighty confused

@@MeoKyx when you open nightlight desktop, click settings from the left side of the screen. Once you've done that, there should be a olace called Custom path, click on it and try to find the Dead by Daylight folder. When you've found it, click on it and select it. Then when you install a pack, it should be on your game. Hope this helped :D

Yeah that'd be extremely cool, but consoles aren't too happy with people modifying files. I think it's as much a Sony / Microsoft thing as a Bhvr thing. What they really need is official support -- hell they could even sell perk packs on the store to give back to creators!!!
