If youre talking about the one just before Mogh, yes it does not matter how you get to this place, either with the finger or the secret medaillon

You need the other medaillon which is 2 parts so you can access the secret passage at the same elevator you get to the Mountaintops

Prettty clearly a ng+ guide. For +4 stone, go to crumbling Azula... For 5 go to Haligtree... This isn't about how to start a new game, and get the stones asap. And for NG+ I wonder why even bother. How about making a guide getting the stones if you are starting a new char. Like first stone, past the bridge in Limgrave turn right it's on a chair. Stones are easy till you need 7, then it's through Volcano Manor, or Rannis Quest deep in Necro city. 8 and 9 are easy, and 10 stone through Varres quest outside Morg or whats his name.
