First time I came across your channel. I was already doing this in my first 2 months of training because I felt slow and tried to tighten my fist on impact while staying loose and not flexing the muscles. This is probably the most important thing begginers need to start doing so that it becomes a habit (obviously next to good technique). Subscribed.

Thanks! And yeah I totally agree. People think that “punching with dumbells doesn’t make you faster” and yes of course just using them won’t make you faster it will only make you feel faster. However it’s using them as a tool to train clenching at the end of the punch, that’s where their benefit comes into play 👍🏻

The turning cylinder analogy is good. If you think about it, however, it adds all these extra moves that one has to make; to have to keep opening and closing the hands. Throwing more jabs also can be used to keep on the faster turning/tighter cylinder analogy. Box sings... Great work though... k

Of course a lot of these little mental tricks to assist the hips can seem like a lot at first, but that’s why you gotta just get thousands of reps in until you don’t have to think anymore. When I first started the idea of closing my hands on impact seemed very difficult, now I do it without even thinking
