How To Get From LaGuardia Airport To Times Square For Cheap!!

The trip from the airport to Times Square for us took approximately 40 mins. It was about an 18 minute bus ride and about a 22 minute subway ride. Depending on traffic and delays we recommend estimating 40 mins to an hour to arrive in Times Square from the airport.

Big Dawg pro Congratulations on your upcoming trip to the Big Apple! In reference to your metro card question. A weekly pass is about 30 bucks. So split between 5 ppl who may or may not want to all go to the same places at the same time is really up to you. We would recommend at least getting two passes and putting a certain amount on each (not necessarily $30 on each) that way if members of the group decide to split up (i.e. feet are hurting from walking, sick, sleepy, etc) then said group/person can go back to the hotel and the others can remain out in the town. If you do not think your group of 5 will ever split up then a weekly pass is definitely an option for sure. Hope this helps, and have fun😊!

As far as our favorite place to visit in December hmmmmm... well if you like warm weather the Caribbean and or Florida are really nice that time of year. Hurricane season is over in December, less crowded from tourists like in the summer months, and you can catch some really great hotel deals because of the fewer tourists (unless of course you go during a holiday like Christmas or New Year's Eve). Great question, this video is simply for getting to Times Square from LaGuardia Airport. Once you are in Manhattan you can choose to walk for free, catch an uber or taxi (for whatever price they charge, or add additional money to your metro card to be able to use the subway for travel during your 6 day trip. LA_Roma You are so very welcome! The most important thing is to have your ticket. So if you have a balance big enough on 1 metro card to get 4 people on the bus as well as the subways then 1 metro card would be sufficient. We purchased 2 metro cards just in case something were to go wrong with 1 card, as well as if we decided to split up (example someone got tired and needed to get back to the hotel).

Since we are not locals we would recommend you do your own research on this, rules change frequently and who knows' it may or may not include it. We just know this worked for us for the under $5 fee. Abillash menon Hi thanks for watching and good question. It will take anywhere from 45 mins to an hour. It took US just over an hour ( 1 hour and 6 minutes exactly) 18 minute bus ride and 22 minute subway ride. The other minutes were because we were filming 😉. Our flight landed in the afternoon and it was also winter hence the daylight is shorter during that season.

We didn't run into any issues at any time of day that we were out. However it should be noted that we only had morning flights. Of course there will be things to always be on the look out for anywhere you go in unfamiliar territory. We suggest you just use your best judgement for you and your family. Why was the subway ride free if you swiped your card?

You get a free transfer from the bus to the subway with the purchase of your metro card. The subway fare to Times Square was $2.75 per person. 😉 However your card gets charged when your purchase your ticket at the airport and does not get charged when you are at the subway station (a little backwards we know) so it does feel like the subway ride is free even though it is the other way around. To keep it simple just know that you will swipe your card twice but only have money ($2.75) deducted from your balance on the first swipe and nothing will be deducted on the second swipe at the subway station.

David Miller Great Question! To be completely honest with you, when we were filming this video we did not pay attention to whether or not there were any other stops 🥴. We just knew to get off at Jackson Heights so we just had tunnel vision for that particular stop. If there were any other stops it may have been 1 (if any) but we honestly can’t remember since it has been a few years ago now. During our trip while this video was filmed we remember there was a lot of construction going on at the airport so we are sure the commute is quicker now. How long did it take to get from the airport to timesquare ?

The trip from the airport to Times Square for us took approximately 40 mins. It was about an 18 minute bus ride and about a 22 minute subway ride. Depending on traffic and delays we recommend estimating 40 mins to an hour to arrive in Times Square from the airport.
