Just wanted to share my experience. Using the P40 Pro, of course. And first off just wanted to thank you for making this tutorial. 1st try. Following this tutorial step-by-step. Pausing, making sure I was up to him on the video. Worked fine. Unfortunately, I restarted the phone, and for some reason, no more google services. 2nd try. After some trial and error I managed to get it working again. Had to stat from the beginning. Delete all the 9 apps, clear cache, app data, etc. Didn't do a factory reset. Can confirm that Google services is still working. Although apprehensive about restating my phone, in case it gets rid of Google services again. As far as the apps and services I use. Google pay doesn't work, that's about it. Let me guys know if you still have Google services running after restarting your phone.

For all those who struggle with regenerating GMS ID - try to restart your phone. On my P40 ID appeared right after restarting without even opening Play Store. Hitting retry on error in PS was pointless.

This work perfectly fine! But the Retry option got me pissed.. Tried too many times until the Device ID App does not even load at all.. (At this point, i did a hard restart on the phone and tried running the Device ID app and Google Play service and it worked well on the Google Play Service with Google ID displaying on Device ID App) Great work and thanks for the guide!

This has been working perfectly on my P40 Pro for one last week now. I do not get the error on startup either. 1. Remember to start-stop-restart the "G" app that the "restore" installs. 2. Remember to keep restarting Play Store to regenerate the GSF number at 3:40.

When I install that first G app, it never provides the ability to Allow, then Install. It just give me a dialogue box in Chinese with blue button or gray button (note, I translated it use AI lens and it basically says something about network connection where the blue button is 'retry' and grey button is 'exit app.'). Gray button cancels out, blue button can be pressed endless amounts of times. What do I need to do? Thanks in advance.

not sure if it'll help you, but at the point where gsf id is supposed to regenerate I just ignored it and continued to last step. Once I installed the 9th apk I could install stuff on google play store. to avoid the stupid error notifications I just disabled notifications from google play store in settings. working fine so far
