Are you still trying to peel of birch bark or are you already heating?
There is a simple technique which works very reliable to get huge amounts of birch bark while making firewood - and the best, without any extra work!

Neat technique - like it. I also look out for rotten logs on the ground. The bark does not rot, but peels away easily & burns just as well.

Hi, moist likely not. The birch bark up here North is not good usable. The birches grow very slow and with a lot of branches and distortions. 200km more south it is already better, or also in other areas here. It is possible to do it here also but I do not think I want to invest the time only for a video. But let's see what the future brings up :-)
