Great video, I had dreads done a few months ago that started falling apart (like a 6 inch dread that split down the middle at 2 inches and became 2-3 dreads from one section) and I was about to cut them off, then I got a crochet hook and repaired them myself after watching some of your videos, now my dreads are tight and I love them. keep up the vids man I thought my hair was a lost cause but with a lil crochet needle and your guidance I was able to make it work, thank you!

I have the same hair type...and that's definitely not 4a or even 4b hair. He's a 4c like me...crazy thick and super tight curls...which is, of course, ideal for growing locs as the 4c hair type "wants" to loc up on it's own. Still another great vid from you though. ;-)

Depends on your hair type and how tight you crochet them. I cant speak for white hair but for black hair it won't come undone. With black hair this is not necessary-our hair locs on it's own. You only do this method if you dont want to wait for it to loc naturally.

@@Papertrayle I did crochet and it helped so much! It helped me skip things like the budding process and it helped my dreads loc right away. The only thing I would warn you about is too be careful not to over do it because if you do your locs will be stiffer the more you do it. But it will go away once your hair grows.

Are you caucasian ? If not you shouldn't have to crochet your new growth. In fact this whole crochet thing is for people with straight hair or who are impatient. None of its necessary for 4a hair a simple retwist is fine but dont retwist too often.
