This is hands-down my most favourite college apps video ever!! I mean the way you've given information in such a lucid manner, backed up by motivation is truly incredible. I'm applying this fall to nyuad and I really hope to get in! If it's possible, could I by any chance get in touch with you to know more about nyuad, their application process and your personal experience on campus? Do let me know, thank you so much for this video :))

Thankyou so much for such an informative video. Can you please elaborate a little about the "counselor and teacher recommendations"? Like, are they supposed to be the teachers and counselors who have taught and guided me respectively? Sorry if it's a dumb question.
@maggenlove4 жыл бұрын
Hey! No worries 😉 yes, counsellor and teacher recommendations are supposed to come from the educators that had direct contact with you and know you well. If you know a teacher who hasn’t taught you but, for instance, supervised a school project you were a part of, that also works. So, counsellor has to be your school counsellor but “teacher” can be interpreted liberally, as long as that person is not your blood relative

Hi! The past months I've been making my research about opportunities to study at NYUAD, it is my dream college, but I'd like to know if... well, I'm partially deaf, I need hearing aids in order to hear better, but I've lost just 30% of my hearing sense, yet my english level is quite enough good! so I'd like to know if this is gonna be a disadvantage when applying, it has been a problem in highschool but it doesn't actually needs to be an obstacle. The reason I want to get in is because I want to know as much world, people, and mindsets from students who come from worse situations than I do, before I ever completely lose my hearing sense. I'm currently taking a Technical career in english teaching, as part of my highschool's extracurricular projects and I'd like to focus on that when making my essay or I'd like to know if I can take advantage of that. Do you think I am eligible enough? And, btw, I love your mindset about studying abroad, with this video I could actuallly relate with every word you said about oportunities to study out of your country. I hope I can receive an answer soon, I really admire you!

Flora, thank you for your comment! Glad to hear you are confident in your English - and I would not worry so much about the disability when applying - NYUAD is an equal opportunity university, so we have (a small) but nonetheless a growing community of students with disabilities already, which is encouraging! As for eligibility - it si good that you are expanding your extracurricular involvement and if you are confident that it gave you enough growth opportunities to elaborate on, then you could absolutely use that in your essay. And anyone currently in high school is eligible to apply :) So good luck!

hi! enjoyed the video. can you tell me what the cause of the delay of your official invitation to candidate weekend was?
@maggenlove4 жыл бұрын
in my case it was because the admissions team needed additional documents from my counsellor who did not check their email regularly

Awesome!! Do universities in UAE offer scholarships? And are the scholarships for all the 4 years or only the first year? Thanks!
@madinakundizbay52052 жыл бұрын
yes, they do if your family does not earn much. and these are for 4 years

Can you talk about candidate weekend? When were you invited?
@maggenlove4 жыл бұрын
Hey Meryem, sure! I applied ED2 and got an indication of invitation towards the end of January (around third week). I had a bit of a delay in processing my application so I only received the official invitation a month later and hence attended the RD2 weekend in March. Here I have to say that Candidate Weekend dates change every year even if they stay around the same period. I would say that the admissions office aims to notify all participants at least 1.5 weeks before the weekend dates max. But this year obviously things are a little different so it’s difficult for me say for sure how the dates have been affected.

Hi, thanks for this video it was really informative! I tried to apply for Early Decision but due to my procrastination and poor time managing skills I was only able to apply for Regular decision. Do you think I have a chance to get in? How much of a difference does it make between ED and RD? My essays were pretty good and I have good grades ( 3,84 Unweighted GPA) I also have done some interesting activities and won some awards on math competitions. I really hope to get in, love this university. Thanks for your help.

What about emirati students do they get full scholarship ( don't pay money)?? And what are the EmSAT scores required?
@maggenlove3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Emiratis don’t need the scholarship to go to NYUAD as I believe they enter through the Sheikh Zayed scholars program and the government covers all fees + stipend. EmSAT I believe is optional so you can choose which tests you’d like to provide.
