Thank you very much for this video, was very informative and helpful! May I ask how you would provide evidence of reflection on an undergraduate project? (Ie would it need to be signed off by the supervising consultant, or are reflections, on their own suitable)

I’m pretty sure a masters would add points to your portfolio, but check out the ophthal portfolio scoring checklist for the most up to date info though (:

Hi Evey, I am planing to apply for ST1 this year. I am trying to publish few case reports (mainly related to Ophthalmology). Do you know any non peer review journals where I can publish them?
@livelife23242 жыл бұрын
Do you need to have won awards for the presentations you do, or is it enough to have just presented? And how did you get the opportunity to author a text book?
@eveyclay Жыл бұрын
Just presenting is good enough! I happened to get that chance during my bsc- someone else on my course wanted to write a textbook, and so I wrote a chapter 🙈

How did you go about arranging ophthalmology clinics/theatre time/sims in your F3 year? I don't know of any ophthal trainees personally & have just been trying to contact local hospitals & hoping that someone gets back to me!

Hi Evey, great content. I noticed that there was no mention of MSRA. Does it mean that it's not included as part of the requirements for getting into Ophthalmology training?
@eveyclay Жыл бұрын
Hey yea it is part of it, it’s just a separate section to the portfolio so I didn’t include it

How do i log the eye clinics im attending with the consultants
@eveyclay Жыл бұрын
Just record it yourself on a sheet (get individual signatures of people you sit in with), and then put together a letter confirming you’ve attended and ask the consultant to sign it

Hello, hope you are well. The Severn Deanery website doesn't have this page any longer. Could you please let me know where I can find portfolio points for ST3 applications. Thank you for the wonderful videos.

Apart from family concerns, would you rather practise in Singapore or UK and why?
@eveyclay3 жыл бұрын
Ooh that’s a tough question! I think there are pros and cons to working in both places, and currently I’m pretty happy working in the UK. Also would be happy to explore the option of working in Singapore at some point, but also happy to continue working on the UK! In the UK there is a better work life balance in my opinion, which I really appreciate. But in Singapore there is the potential to earn more in the future(privatised healthcare)? Both are great options though!

Hello! Loved the video 🤗 Just to clarify one thing I didn’t understand: Just feedback from teaching is not enough as proof? You need a letter from a consultant stating you provided the teaching? How did you find conferences to Make presentations? Where can I find portfolio scoring for other specialties other than ophtalmology? Thank you and all the best for you 🤗
@eveyclay3 жыл бұрын
Hello! I’ve found it’s best to get a signed letter to say you did the teaching, but getting the feedback as proof is really important too. I would just do a quick Google search for conferences or ask any other ophthal trainees if they know of any conferences coming up! For portfolio scoring for specialities - if you Google it it’ll probably come up too (:
