While I think pointy toe shoes can look stunning on small feet, I don't think that they are are always the most flattering if your feet are on the large side and they are very pointy. I've seen some that added probably a couple of inches to the end of the foot and honestly reminded me of a Christmas elf...

Thanks Marie-Anne, I understand and appreciate your insight. When I was younger, I would often read a statement in a magazine such as 'pointy shoes lengthen the leg' and immediately go out and buy a pair because, gosh, who doesn't want longer legs?, without really even considering whether it suited ME. Then, a some point in the future, I would catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror and realize that the effect was (ahem) slightly different on me than it was on the six foot, spagetti-slim model in the magazine. Thanks to you, Justine and Audrey (the three wise women of fashion) I'm learning better tho :)

Great tips; I can attest: nude heels changed my life! 😀 Being a height of 1.5 meters, would love to see a future video expanding on this one, with examples of how shoes affect proportions for petite and short-legged women; for example, how to tell if a heel is too high for one's size, wearing low or flat shoes without looking stumpy, etc. The ankle boot video was most instructive on the topic, as we the Petite e-course, but always more to learn. Hey, Coco has short legs, he could model! Merci!

Marie-Anne update ..... yesterday I came across a massive sale on shoes. The experience did 3 things: 1. Reminded me that comfort is #1. A pair of nude pointed kitten heels was a great price, but uncomfortable fit for me. 2. A beautiful pair of ultra-feminine blush-pink pointed flats made me question my style choices (hence I have re-watched several of your videos related to finding style inspiration) I loved the shoes, but realized they don't go with anything in my wardrobe. :-) 3. I also began questioning my shoe choices in general ... so, of course, I just rewatched every video you have on shoes. Seriously. It all comes down to "I've always been an adventurous, active classics-inspired woman; not ultra-feminine or elegant/luxury, but do I need to soften the lines and amp-up my femininity?" But then when I look at strong French like yourself, there is a femininity and strong elegance of its own. I have not found words yet to fully describe my thoughts. Perhaps this will give you ideas for videos; perhaps it is just a good place for me to have a mid-life fashion crisis. (How blessed I am to have the opportunity to think about personal style.) Thank you for the impact you are having in the world.

@@MarieAnneLecoeur The best of the best was the reminder about nude shoes and how they elongate the leg. Interesting!💐 I don’t like wedges bc they look big and bulky like Frankenstein shoes😂 An espadrille is lovely tho. With loafers, I like no heel, and a mid-vamp in a color to match my legs or skirt...i think it can look quite feminine and pretty but still functional. I’m over the very pointy toe look...it was overdone when I lived overseas-very extreme look...I prefer a square toe usually just bc I hate being trendy-I wanna wear stuff that says ‘unique’💗 Ur shoe collection is gorgeous btw!!! The neutral heels are fab!!!

The pointed-toe shoe is a dream for the Orthopedists and Podiatrist. I don't care how fashionable the shoe is, if it is uncomfortable, don't buy it. Good for you, Denise, the square-toe shoe isn't fashionable but your feet will say, "Thank you"! Nothing looks worst if you're hobbling around.

Great content, Marie-Anne! I'm 5'8" and have long legs! I like & wear wedges. I stay away from high heels, unless they're chunky 3" (max!) mules -casual, I know. I'm trying Chanel inspired cap toe ballet flats (AIG). I really like & have been watching for a narrow "cleavage" in a shoe that goes almost to my toes in a V shape, with abt a 2" sort of small stacked heel. They REALLY make my foot look narrower!!! 😊 On a different note: Returning from an overnight trip for a medical test today, I put on blue jeans, an olive green knit l/s V-neck tee, black leather jacket, & brown ankle booties. At the last minute I added a scarf that contained all those colors. My husband looked at me & said, " You look REALLY look nice this morning!" How sweet! I was a bit surprised, as his tone of voice & facial expression were different than usual when he says I look nice. I believe the scarf that elevated my look made the difference! That may sound shallow, but I think it's true, bc the scarf was the only thing I changed! So..... Many Thanks, Marie-Anne! You're the reason I added it 👍😁❤💞💞

The blanket assumption that the colour 'nude' is caucasian skin tone is one of those covertly racist microaggressions that not only the fashion industry is guilty of. There shouldn't even be a colour called 'nude' as there are so many different skin tones - and most of them not pinky beige!. So your inclusivity is appreciated :)
