Still stand by compressed wood based cat litter. Cheap as chips and lasts really well. Cardboard to start and then add the pellets.

Ill definitely give the cat litter a whirl :) These logs cost £2.50 for 6 logs so its around 40p for a 5 hr burn. Which is pretty economical.

We have plenty of pine straw everywhere here so purchasing anything is pointless here. Thanks for the video!

Yep. Its all about what works for you. If you can access to free fuel, no need for anything else. North wales tend to be a bit damp so we need a good long burning fuel to last the day

Thanks Lawrence, after my own experiments I like the idea of not paying for the smoker's fuel if can get it locally for free. At the moment I am using a bit of cardboard to start with (using blowtorch) and then some pinecones mixed with dry pine needles. Really thick, longlasting, cold smoke. The local National Trust do not mind me to come with the rake in the autumn and load a coupe of big bags with pinecones. This is usually enough for for a season.

Another Great video thanks. Can I please ask if you used the Lekto’s Hardwood Heat Logs or any recommendations with size and hole? Thanks

Cheers. I havent come across those but as long as they fit in the smoker with a gap around the side, they should be fine
