Thanks, Bill - I'm new to VO and to your weekly directive. What a great add to the fire hose from which I now drink ;)! I already hear that your content will be at the forefront of that fount!

I second what Beau said...but I'll add to call anybody, everybody that you think might have a need. Ask whoever answers to point you in the right direction to the right person. There is no rule. And tell people what you do...I got a fun gig for a nature center just by mentioning my vo work to an acquaintance...and they were just about to re-do their multimedia presentation. Of course, I have also heard plenty of "we just go online to find people" but you won't know unless you try.

This was valuable Bill....especially the cold call....I am not afraid of doing that... As an actress, I have had my share of 'rejection'...which I do not take personally...

Bill, what do you do if you get a poorly written e-learning script with a lot of grammatical errors and typos? Do you read it as-is, or do you tell the client that the script is a piece of crap?

For the secret "contacts" information you'll have to pay to learn just how. I think I'll keep trying on my own since I can't afford those classes anyway. And when I find out how it's done, I'll give the information away for free. I have a problem with the experts who sell you "secrets" anyway. Though I do believe in free enterprise. Still searching. Terri Apple's book seems far more comprehensive and she's a top name in the VO community. Look for it on Amazon. I've met her and her enthusiasm is infectious. Great talent too.

Hi, I am where you were 5 years ago. Did you ever learn the secret contacts information? I did get Terry Apple's book and it is excellent.

I listen to many educationap videos often. Unfortunately, they often bore the crap out of me as the voice does not sound engaging. A little closer to the second read would keep me engaged.
