Do you do video analysis of footage we can send in? Your videos are simply the best I’ve found after months of trying different coaching videos.

Great video John. I know for me the #1 problem is the toss the other parts of the serve I am pretty good with but as far as consistency it's the toss.

Hi William, Have you checked out my videos on the ball placement here on the channel? If not, have a look and let me know if you need additional help. Thanks, John
@williamsannuto82393 жыл бұрын
@@PerformancePlusTennis yes and it has really helped in terms of what to focus in on with the toss . I think it's just more times than not the toss seems to be where inconsistency happens . As the match progresses and as the physicality of the points start working on my legs the toss then seems to go allover. Maybe by slowing down that could help and more reps would help. Thank u John for your great teachings .

@@williamsannuto8239 HI William, Yes, slowing down but not over thinking. Place the ball,...don't think too much! Let the rhythm of your routine lead into the serve. Keep me posted on your progress! Thanks, John

@@PerformancePlusTennis I will def keep you posted. I was wondering when tossing do i toss from shoulder height or lower ? a tennis coach told me that i should start to release the finger pressure from the waist and shortly after release the ball. Thanks John.
@PerformancePlusTennis3 жыл бұрын
@@williamsannuto8239 Hi William, Placing the ball is such a precise skill! The point of release should be around the top of your head. The ball should float away from your hand as you open the fingers. Place the ball...don't toss it. I hope this helps!

Great lesson. Do you recommend rec level players pause at trophy position?
@PerformancePlusTennis3 жыл бұрын
Hi Bourne, Great to hear from you! Yes, it's ok to pause...but don't stop! The pause is where you settle-in to your balance and position to make a coordinated and powerful movement to contact without tension or excessive effort. I hope this helps, I will be live today at 1pm. Here is the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnmnmndsodZ-fqM. Thanks, John

My problem is that when I really relax my wrist, the racquet bends it back (wrist extension) in the racquet drop phase. This in turn affects the angle of the racquet during its path. The only way the wrist does not bend back like this is if I tension it and hold it in less extended position BUT this is of course not ideal as it creates tension. I tried different take backs, different rhythms and my wrist simply always wants to extend. I know you have a device which is meant to prevent the wrist from extending but are there any other tips you could give me ? Thanks!
