Bhaiya i am from tier-2 college with that i will be pursuing iit madras online bs degree program in DS will it be worth it for getting job in hft firm or should i try to get seat in MIT ,Stanford University etc for masters ,i am first year student

i will join IIT KANPUR for mtech cse, but professors do not allow mtech students for internship, can i got selected only with the help of my project, because i watched some interview of btech students who cracked hft , they first did their internship from hft and then cracked hft company, can i do this only with my project
