I've been through this and I can confirm it's 2000% real. When I had my first break-up I literally felt like I was going to die. I even self harmed myself. Not just bcoz of him but also I was going through being S-A. Then after few times I distracted myself from him, focused on myself, stopped stalking him, getting his updates from common friends, blocked him from everywhere. And BOOM. After 4 years I'm comfortable with someone mentioning him, I'm not dying anymore. And my current relationship is going well too. Just the loss is that I am not able to give my boyfriend the same love I used to have for my ex. I'm more self conscious and don't get into dramas or hurt myself over small things. But overall it's good for me, I'm not that "can't say no" type girl anymore.
