I just did this. Im on one of the last missions if not the last. Now the balcony door is open, the balcony door is on the north side of the palace, 12 a’clock when looking at it on the map. If you did not Get the book on the last mission you probably have to go back, trough the door at the balcony, Get the key from one of the guards in the first floor, and unlock the door that goes into the room where the book is.

Ok so the only way to get in that building is by doing a mission i search the whole building top to bottom and even went to that door and it wasn’t open or showing a sign to open it spent 30 minutes trying to get in there to just find out only way in is doing a mission crazy

The video didn't do anything for me as I had already found the balcony and the video speeds through so much you really can't tell how to get there anyway. If not for the comments I wouldn't know that you have to progress further into the story before being able to get to this book. Good news, I have this area synchronized now, so can get to it quickly when I do.

They should give you a hint or something. Cleared all the guards and still couldn’t find the damn entrance to the book. Out of all the Creeds probably the worse one story wise, even the gameplay is not interesting. Dull atmosphere, uninteresting fights.

Ah, I’m only an initiate and haven’t progressed the story much - door is not open yet - that’s why I couldn’t find it. Shame they level locked it. Why is this area recommended level Assassin? I stealth killed all the guards just fine as an initiate on Hard. Get rid of all the RPG level elements Ubisoft and the game would be a lot better. Just an assassin and his blade against the world please.

you can get anywhere after the start, the recommended rank doesn't mean anything (at least in my opinion). That's how it should be...u died? weren't sneaky enough or skilled enough. Deal with it and try again. But blocking sth without saying "aye shit, progress the story" sucks -_-

The ridiculousness of these books is truly shown in this final book. You need to progress up to the end of the game, you have to either have a special key that you get during the story mission optionally, or swing to an obscure balcony. Once you have this final book, you turn it in for literally no new story or interesting elements. All you get is an ugly scholar uniform, and the NPC still acts like there are more books to find. For so much work, it is very unsatisfying, just like any other collectables in the game. This is just one of many examples of the game not properly rewarding you for your efforts. With a poor storyline, atrocious combat, and numerous janky bugs, this would be the worst AC if Unity didn't exist.
