How to get perfectly clear glass every time with ONR [4K]

This is the only method I've found that gives streak free glass every time, and is cheap AND isn't labour intensive.

Matt is such an under-rated detailer in my opinion. He's always been (and continues to be) top tier in my books and he's so helpful. I've been using ONR on my windows since he posted the video about it and I wouldn't use anything else now. Great guy.

I couldn't agree more! There are many out there like him too, we just don't get to see them as they're so busy. Filming adds a huge overhead, I do it because I enjoy that bit just as much... But not on every job!

I can confirm this works better than any glass cleaner I've tried. Only difference I do is use distilled water. For rags I like the waffle weave from the rag company

I think I probably forgot to say in the video but I use Deionised water, which, whilst being a different way to demineralise the water, must have the same benefits.

I immediately recognized that green pos af waffle towel. Used it once or twice, even after a wash it kept releasing lint. I gave it to my gf to do whatever she wants with it, clean up cat puke and such. For wipe down, i use liquid elements streak buster towels and recently discovered Gyeon bald wipe is a very high quality cloth that can perform in many roles. Cheers buddy

Yeah that towel....well it has a good job in this context, covered in a liquid where it can't lint! It's a terrible towel just on its own...this is about the only use I've got for it!

Very good review of ONR as a glass cleaner. I absolutely hate glass cleaning so anything that makes it easier is a plus!

Isn't it the WORST job? This does genuinely make it easier and easy, which therefore tends to make it less of a loathsome job. I tend to find that I may do the glass and then use the rest of the mixed up solution to wipe over the interior and make that look a load better and just a vacuum and hit with a detail brush. Makes piano black trim look alright and smear free

Great video which I remembered when it was time to order some new glass towels, went with the pyramid ones in your link, notice in instructions it says to soak for 24 hours before 1st use, no problem but then it says not to machine wash but to wash by hand, do you do that? Also thanks for the heads up on using Mothers CMX as base clean and prep for Synergy 2 you mentioned on Speckys podcast, I've got a 3 year old black Lexus and combo that sounds like just the ticket. Thanks for taking the time to comment dude! With regards to that pyramid towel, I machine wash mine and I've not seen a drop in performance at all, so I think you'll be safe. I tend to wash on 40 degrees on a regular wash cycle, I was finding that doing it on the delicates one didn't do enough cleaning. I use Malco Microfibre Refresh to wash with, it's by far the best microfibre detergent I've tried (I've done Rags to Riches, Chemical Guys, ODK...and another one that I forget).

So I watched this a year ago and it's been on my mind a lot. As a newly converted Rinseless Zealot, I feel I am now able to extol the virtues of this glass cleaning method. Also, may I recommend the e-cloth glass and polishing cloth. It's an absolute sensation. Final buff off there is nothing close to it. No lint, perfect results every time. With or without rinseless.

Seen you do a few glass cleaner videos, have you tried distilled water and ipa alochol? works wonders for me and streak free as the alcohol dries super fast and clear

I've not tried that for ages, so I can't remember how I got in with it. I find that these days I mix up a litre of ONR and do the glass, then give the sills and door cards a quick wipe down, so it's sort of multiple uses from the bit I mix up for the job.

@@SuperchargedLlama Ah okay, I find its fairly effective, although Im yet to try it on a seriously bad window, will do on the weekend against a dog smeared rear windscreen🥴, but I vape and it brings my windows up lovely, have just purchased some nilglass I believe its called off your recommendations just incase I need something abit stronger. Also going to purchase some ONR in the coming weeks for exactly that purpose, and just use a rag ive used for mopping up the interior on the sils. You reuse your ONR mixture aswell dont you? I like your idea on the maintenance wash aswell, using the ONR to clean down the interior aswell as the windows. Took that onboard aswell

I do fine Nilco Nilglass works pretty well, you may need a couple of hits and it definitely takes a liberal application direct on the glass. This has also been recommended bdclean.co.uk/product/vape-off/

Shower glass yes, definitely. Although it won't get rid of limescale, I use it on all the windows in my house. Can't see why that wouldn't extend to the greenhouse. As for glasses, I just use washing up liquid for that, that never fails.

Other than the really dirty vaporization you mentioned at the very end, why would anyone want to buy a glass cleaner if they already have ONR? Seems to me the biggest issues are streaking and towel type. None of these glass cleaners seem all that good for regular cleaning.

I agree with you 100% there, for the vast majority of situations I find ONR gives me the best finish, clarity and ease of result. Does it go cloudier more quickly than other products? I guess it'll be easier to tell over the winter, it feels like it might, but then it's far easier to clean with it, so you do it more frequently more easily. Also, on the topic of cloths - that grey waffle weave thing is definitely the other half of the equation.

Could it not be mixed into a spray bottle? Never used it before

It definitely can be (and is used that way as a QD/drying aid/ pre-wash soak - although the ratios are a bit different from memory), the benefit of soaking the towel here is that is completely covered and soaked in the ONR solution, which then means it can properly encapsulate whatever is on the glass. I can't see why spraying wouldn't work, but I also can't say that it'd give the results I've seen. Does that make sense?

I haven't used theirs yet, and the brand didn't exist when I made this video. I'd say I currently prefer Garage Therapy Rinseless and Feynlab Pure Rinseless to ONR for actually Rinseless Wash. I need to do a side by side comparison to see if Garage Therapy does as well on the glass though, the Feynlab didn't (although there's new formulations of that now too).
