How can we predict the market using math? I believe it's possible through Fourier series and a few other views. Please help 🆘 I just don't understand how to get the wave form of the market and then calculate a point in time to predict the price. Itself sounds simple but idk what to

i like how you used stocks to explain simple math ideas but unfortunately predicting where stocka will move isnt this simple, if it were every mathematician and trader would be rich

so I found your channel and I'm digging it and I looked through it and realized it was discontinued. do you have an alternative channel or did something else happen? this and other videos were really interesting and I'd like to see them through!

Thanks for watching! My mission is to give you simple and fun explanations to ideas that they (teachers, media, "experts") would like you to think are only for "insiders." If you experience a lecture, article, video or idea that you don't understand, please leave it in a comment and I'll answer it in a future video.

B ) Best fit lines using Calculus rise/run with time as function variable and support/resistance to maximize profits is optimal. But many trader indicator not math function for conformation. Steady as we go.

First few sentences in: "The point of the stock market is to make as much money as possible." That's not the point at all, it's about assessing a current value to items.
@Broughtvulture3 жыл бұрын
End goal is still to make money. I've never heard anyone say "i like assessing value thats why i do stocks". More or less that statement is more for people that do real estate investing and not stocks

This is college algebra. Do a video on options Delta and Gamma if you want to use calculus for trading.
@richardhilman96822 жыл бұрын
@Richard Kirk well the options Greek delta is the 1st derivative of the stock price, while Gamma is the 2nd derivative. I recall that the 2nd derivative indicates in the inflection point of the underlying slope (stock price). So I've been trying to find articles or KZbin videos explaining how to use the inflection point calculation of a stock price movement (the 2nd derivative Gamma) to predict movement of a stock price.

If you think that this video is BS,then why don't you go and test it on a chart with historical data and see what you will find.First test it out and then express your opinion. Thats the scientific approach.
@ozzy74396 жыл бұрын
Strongly Agree.
@KpxUrz57454 ай бұрын
I have done all the testing. So now I can express my opinion which is that this is all nonsense and will help no one make money in the stock market.

Do you guys really think that drawing lines, rates of changes, support and resistance is enough to forecast stock prices?? Come on, I am a scientific trader since 5 years and I studied thousands and thousands strategies through backtests and scientific computations. Now I found it and I am a profitable trader since 2 years. I can tell you that nothing in this video can make you win.

But where is the calculus?
@tjinspace70013 жыл бұрын
Shares are controlled by speculation so this isn't a predictive analysis model, and you can basically just look at the graph to see if it's going up or down and for how long and plot to media mentions; no math needed... FYI calculus isn't even used much in predictive analysis models; it's usually linear algebra and processing descriptive data. People who can actually do what this video claims get very rich very quick and usually open exclusive wealth management and investment firms or just get licensed and invest in high-frequency traiding.

Yeah this video is total BS. I could argue efficient market hypothesis all day but instead just consider this, if the video was correct then there are literately tens of millions not doing something pretty simple which would earn huge returns and hundreds of thousands of professional traders/economists/etc. have not figured out how to become ubber wealthy. I mean for fucks sake, I could hook up Excel to the Bloomberg connection at my university (or free stock data online) and code a program to do this in like a day. But it wouldn't work because there is no fundamental reason for it to do so. Stocks are best modeled as martingales (checkout wiki for yourself if interested)

+Thor P.N That's a great point. It takes a lot of practice and hard work. I was just trying to help and inspire viewers to get started on the long journey by showing that the basic concepts are not very difficult. There's a lot of esoteric jargon out there in the academic and trading world intended to push away newbies.
@searchlite12118 жыл бұрын
+Thor P.N Also, this is part 1 of a 6 part series I have planned out. Do you think it would help make my point if I made the videos?
@thorp.n89988 жыл бұрын
+SearchLite I dont know, but if you want to really get your point across to the viewer then dont be afraid to say something is actually really complex when it is really complex. When a video makes something too simple it causes the channel to loose credibility, and if the fifth video then corrects or elaborates on the subject of video 1 it wont matter - cause most will have left by then since video 1 had flaws. Certainly one could set aside 20 seconds to an intro along the lines of "The stock market is hugely complex, this video will sketch one idea I find important, but it is a huge simplification - see references x-y-z for greater details."
@searchlite12118 жыл бұрын
+Thor P.N Ok thanks so much for your input. I'm always eager to learn. So I'll work on getting better in the future!
