I got aphids on my cosmos plant , someone told me to spray neem oil and so I did and I lost my plant! It slowly dried and i couldn't understand why! Now I know! I should have moved em into the house !! Man I wish I got to see the video a little earlier......

Aphids got to my Sarrs too. I took dried Carolina Reapers, cut them into pieces, and added the pieces to distilled water with neem oil. Now the squirrels also stay away. I do have to spray every couple of days...and the spray will burn your eyes/ throat if the wind catches it but it works. I make sure my skin/ eyes/ mouth are covered because what can you expect with Reaper Pepper/ Neem Oil Spray ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Soap water can also be used to deal wit aphids, but in some serious cases you'll need to wash them down with water afterwards.
@ferretpolice629
@ferretpolice629 3 жыл бұрын
They will kill the plants because it makes it soapy and the roots will rot its due to its soapiness the root won't get enough water and will die but that's if you put a lot if water and soap :)
@alexmiller3349
@alexmiller3349 3 жыл бұрын
@@ferretpolice629 please do some research before writing something, okay? Ofc if you will do a concentrated solution it may harm the plant, but even something around 10g/l of soap won't harm, and you need much less. There is a concern of rising the soil pH with soap, but it can be mitigated for example by washing it down with water or using appropriate fertilizers that will raise the acidity of the soil later - something that you already have to do with lime soil for example.

Ohhhh I'm sorry you kind of confused me cus you just said "soap and water" I did do some deep research but I also forgot to add on my last text what kind of soap I was talking about in this case it was hand and dish soap that can include phosphate, bleach, enzymes, dyes, fragrances and rinsing aids. Dish soap works by dissolving greasy chemicals like oils, fats and waxes and it is excellent at this job. It is also a powerful degreaser. Remember dish soap is a detergent that is excellent at removing oil, grease, and wax. When you spray it on your plants, it removes the natural oils and waxes that all plants have on their leaves. These oils and waxes serve to protect the leaves. When the protective coating is removed from the leaves, it makes it easier for pathogens to get a foothold and infect the plants. Spraying your plants with dish soap removes their natural defenses against pests and diseases. You are setting the stage for your plants to get sick, and maybe die. :D hope that's enough information for you :)

Neem oil is illegal in my country what should I do now?
@botanicalchaos
@botanicalchaos 3 жыл бұрын
I heard insecticidal soap is good, but may harm the plants if you spray the soil. Lady bugs are decent, but can be expensive and aren’t very effective outdoors. Neem oil is best but for some reason it’s illegal in your country.
