We have them in our living room. In my recliner. We've treated and vacuumed this recliner twice now. How can I heat treat a part of our living room ? We kill and vacuum them up. Dispose of the dust bin outside in garbage bin. Twice now. I get a wake up from them crawling on me at 03:00 every morning. Exterminator is out of town for Thanksgiving weekend. 90% alcohol and steam works! A McCullough steam cleaner is awesome! Got rid of mattresses and pillows and bought new ones along with bed bug mattress and pillow covers. Treated along the carpet and walls with alcohol then steam cleaned EVERYTHING in, on, under and behind. Did it every day for two weeks. I also vacuumed after the steam dried, emptied the vacuum and put it outside sealed in a hefty bag after each use. I then steamed my vacuum clean when it was all said and done. All curtains, bedding and clothing went through a hot dryer for 30 minutes. Yes, it's alot of work but I've not seen any evidence of them since. This cost was nowhere near the $4000 contract the bed bug exterminator wanted with chemical use over a 1 year treatment plan. ONE WHOLE YEAR!

I need advice. I’m starting to notice some teenage mutant ninja bed bugs in the couch (so far I haven’t noticed anywhere else but I am laying out traps to see if they’re infesting anywhere else). I have pretty severe asthma and so does my sweet angel kitty. I am very reluctant to try any bombs..sprays or powder’s because even a candle can set us both off. I’ve purchased a average home steam cleaner to help the process and I have an exterminator coming in next week to help professionally steam clean the house. What else can I do? He’s mentioned that heat treatments don’t work that well but truly what do I know? I’ve never had this issue before and I’m in a pretty solid state of depression over this. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi casa, can you update us one what happened? I am facing a similar issue with a bed where I will notice one or two bugs every other day Not sure whether to call an exterminator or steam clean it myself Looking for ideas
@fuchsia02 Жыл бұрын
Nah they work pretty well. I would suggest diatomaceous earth as well. I’m pretty sure it’s not toxic to cats but you should check
@foreverNwonder Жыл бұрын
@@fuchsia02I highly suggest diatomaceous earth, it’s safe for pets and humans in the correctly applied use. You wanna create a very fine dusting of the diatomaceous earth. Not thick lines, as this just deters them. You want them to get properly coated with this powder cos it will dry them out from the inside and they’ll die within 48hrs. You need the fine dust so they don’t walk around it and they take the powder back to their little hide-y hole. So they murder all their friends and loved ones. Every single one of their descendants needs to die. For anyone currently dealing with this: watch Mark Rober’s video on bedbugs. The two main killers are steam and diatomaceous earth. Put your mattress in a bed bug bag, it has to stay for at least 1 year. As bed bugs can feed once and then go dormant without feeding for 300 days. I read a YT comment where some guy said to move the bed away from the wall, put all the bed legs in little cups with some diatomaceous earth, and put a fresh sheet, use a soft paintbrush to brush diatomaceous earth all over the sheets and edges of the mattress. He laid in the middle in a sleeping bag. Said he was luring them to their death. I’m currently doing this in my apartment, as I recently found out my entire building has been reporting bed bugs. To this day, I’ve found 10. Which means there’s WAY more living in little crevices. ^^i decided to do all this instead of burn the building down. But who knows. Ask me again in 6months hahaha
