This was really informative (especially how the damage looks). I will check all my plants now XD I use a really good systemic pesticides that we have here in Germany as preventative treatment (which is also slow release fertilizer), so I'm probably good. But you never know.

Hey, I don’t think Bonide systemic is a spider mite attractor, it’s just that Bonide doesn’t work on spider mites. Same thing happened to me with a A. Forgetti, never had thrips in 40 yrs. ☹️💚

Hi Sherry, I so enjoy seeing you around! I have heard some conflicting info on the spider mites vs bonide systemic. It seems that imidacloprid - the ingredient that repels most plant pests - actually acts a reproductive stimulant to the spider mites and can cause them to get out of control very fast. There’s actually a few really interesting articles on it that I found during my thrips crusade lol. Thats so frustrating! And for an anthurium too, they aren’t cheap! I don’t understand how someone could justify selling a plant like that and I’m sorry that happened to you. Hopefully you didn’t lose any of your collection💛

@@the_flora_archives No I didn’t loose any plants but it spread before I realized. They seem to like Anthuriums the best. I’ll have to check into the spider mite thing, thanks for the info, I suppose that, that hasn’t been my experience but always happy too learn. Thanks 💚
