Thank you, SO much. Had (with time) figured WHAT my household has been dealing with in mass (for the first time in over 25 years of living here), but it wasn't until this point in my desperate research, watching this video, that I figured out the single largest factor of WHY. When the word 'pool' was spoken, it dawned. My parent's pool's cover is broken. This year has been particularly difficult so it is pretty far down the long list of things which need repair+money we don't have. Since the cover not only has several punctures, but now the mechanism has broken so it will not at all retract, my parents decided to basically just ignore it until we can afford to deal with it. Except this has more or less resulted in a large body of now non-treated, stagnant water. Now that I realize it is the source of our itchy bite misery it will be treated one way or another. Thank you SO much for this video.

Central New York State has been experiencing a very wet summer season. The no-see-ums have gone wild ! I slept with the windows open in my bedroom the other night and woke in the morning with many itchy bites on my face. I never heard of these bugs before this year. I am hopeful the first frost kills them off!

I live in Chicago and it is winter. Snow coming again this weekend. Why do I have midges on the carpet in front of the couch? Tried different sprays and after a day or so they are back. The exterminator who was looking for bed bug outbreak in building did not know what a no see ums were?

Keep vacuming ur carpet every day to start then set out the apple cider vinegar, soap, and sugar trap in each of your rooms. Take a cup and inside of the cup wrap around gnat trap then fill the cup with apple cider vinegar, sugar, and soap. Leave it out for few weeks and you will see gnats attaching themselves to the yellow gnat trap. This works after two weeks I caught about 15 gnats in my basement that I didn't even see. Also, get ride of any standing water. You can get the gnat trap on amazon. I also heard that taking yeast pills helps them from not biting you at all. I just starting taking Brewers yeast pills. (4) pills a day but it takes two weeks for it to build up in your system. I will update on the Yeast pills because I'm having the same problems as you. I sprayed Pyrethrin that killed a lot of them but not all. I bought a dusting powder like diatomaceous earth but for NoSeeUms and dusted that on floor, walls and ceilings. Let that sit for 2 days. That weekend I decluttered the problem rooms and took everything outside. I washed walls and floors with Castille soap. I don't plan on bringing everything back in house until I am 100% bug free. I am confident I have killed all of the adults. I don't see adults at all anymore. I still have babies, I believe. I clean every night. Wiping things down, vacuuming, using my steam mop I have a bin outside that I put my dirty laundry in. When I wipe things down I take the cloth outside and put it in the dirty laundry bin and seal the top on it. I am not going to live with those demon bugs so I am dedicated to doing things to get rid of them. Do not open Temu packages or anything coming from China in your house. I believe that is how I got them. I am in Virginia, people around here have never even heard of this bug. Couldn't even find an exterminator to treat for them around here.

Can anything else look like these blood worms in North Carolina? My house is infested with some kind of bug. They are biting me so much I’m literally about to lose it. My husband might get a bite every now and then but I’m fighting them constantly. They look like a small black pepper flake. I’ve been taking rubbing alcohol and a cloth to get them off my skin. I’ve had one doctor that said I had lice, another that said I had scabies, another that said it sounds like bed bugs. None of them tested or scraped my skin. They just gave me anything from Ivermectin, to Spinosad, to Permethrin to Ivermectin tablets. Literally throwing Something against the wall to see what sticks. Finally found a dermatologist that would listen to me. I brought in some samples of some tiny red worms, white larvae and the tiny black pepper that I’m seeing everywhere. The doctor said it looks like a mosquito or gnat and let’s hope it’s not a midge. She wouldn’t give me any other info just yet bc she’s sending them off to be analyzed but she did say it’s definitely not bed bugs or scabies 😳 I gave a sigh of relief and then she kind of chuckled and said well we’re not out of the clear yet bc if it is a midge it’s not easy to get rid of. I’m so stressed.

I’ve been having something here in florida and it feels like I’m going crazy right now. Been here over 20 years and I’ve never dealt with anything like it I’m waking up feeling nasty bites covered in red bumps and I’m currently staying at my parents place and it’s horrible here. Worst thing is they think I’m crazy bc they can’t see them but I show the bumps and their like “oh you probably just got bit the other day”. Idk how they put up with the constant buzzing and having them fly in their nose or their just specifically going for me but this is hell. Like I’m in a world of pain at 5 am still covered in these bastards and looking more and more like a damn small pox patient. These suckers are tiny too so it’s really hard to just pick one up and say “this is what’s fkn me up”
