Yep, took me testing it placing them next to the different MT weapons to find out they only light up when placed next to the Boltcaster which nobody uses so in essence they are worthless.

I use 48-8 haulers as sort of personal containers I can summon in at any time. Also the nutrient processor has some storage space you can put specific items into. Carbon is one of them plus all the plants as well

I noticed that every weapon upgrade that I got from the sentinels are only for the bolt caster as they only link to it and I used more then 20 to really see if it was true. I hope they let other weapons get added otherwise weapons upgrades are ninite fodder

i wish there was a potential stats for equipment character. also upgrades have diffrnt stat potential and as long one reach max you need a mod with diffrent stat to enhance the others for this reason potential stat would help a lot to better mange the upgrades.some stack upto 6 depending on the potential as in base line and black market and sentinel are 3.

Hey Jason! I've been testing these and I noticed that the sentinel upgrades aren't random. The stats depend on how many you install and what order you install them in your multi-tool and exosuit combined. I've been testing by installing some, checking the stats, and then reloading my save and trying different upgrades than before. Every time, they always give the same stats no matter what ones I install unless I install them in my suit and multi-tool in different orders. For example, if I put 2 into my multi-tool and then 1 into my suit, the stats are always the same if I install them in that order, and that third upgrade that goes into my suit always has the stats of "Life Support Tanks +18, Core Health +33." Then, if I start over and install the first 3 into my suit first, sure enough, that third upgrade in my suit is "Life Support Tanks +18, Core Health +33." However, if I put the first 2 into my suit first then a third one in my multi-tool and then go back to put a third one in my suit for a total of 4 upgrades, it completely skips over the stats I would have gotten (Life Support Tanks +18, Core Health +33) if I had put the third one in my suit first. It's a really strange system that seems like a lot of work to figure out.

All upgrades function this way. Not just Sentinel upgrades. If you install Sentinel upgrade 1, and it gives you shield, then Sentinel upgrade 2 and it gives you speed, and you reload and try again, you get the same result. But if you install a Sentinel module, followed by an S module, then a Sentinel module, the 2nd Sentinel module will now have different values. As such, installing an S, then a Sentinel module, then a Sentinel module, you can expect that the first Sentinel module this time around will have the stats of the second Sentinel module from before you loaded.

I've built a base with a good S rank Emeril node on a planet with aggressive sentinel presence. I've played around a little with shards farming them from there just going back and forth between systems, but I've not gone too deep into getting good ones. I've largely been selling them for nanites, I don't know how it stacks up to other farms in NMN, but it's gotten me a tidy pouch. What I'm curious about is if these upgrades on a multitool benefit all weapons installed on it? I recently installed a Blaze Javalin to supplement my Scatter for long range, and wonder if it would be more beneficial to lean more into these sentinel shards than actual mods for either specific weapon. Maybe take the mods for one of the weapons, and then the shards so that the secondary can still benefit. But I've not played around with Blaze Javelin, reload I think isn't something it benefits from. Edit: Blaze Javelin is feeling kind of bad, maybe I'll just stick with Scatter and tie on both sentinel and black market modules.

Still hasn't dropped on ps4 currently February 17 at 8:30am. Also did you know the overloaded effect doesn't happen if you put some on your tech tab and some on the general. I have 5 s rank jetpack upgrades total not including the jetpack itself, the special boost thing, and the recharge while falling thing.

Bob did video doing the math on this, and the chances to get a upgrade out of salvaged glass are about 20 to 25 percent. So about 1 in 4 or 5. You can get a little more lucky tho. But he also says that this is the fastest way to farm nanites without duplication or exploits.

You can have more than 3 sentinel upgrades in your eco suit, but they can’t be in the same section. You have to put 3 in your regular inventory, but you can also put 3 more in your tech inventory. So looks like you can have 6 sentinel upgrades for the eco suit as long as they are separated

@@theguylevi when you go to the next galaxy, either through story, or reaching the center, all the tech in your inventory, not tech slot, will break, as will all the tech of your multitool, and the inventory tech of your starship. So... if you've got that much tech in your inventory, sounds like a really expensive galaxy change.

And if you have the very first ship from the first release of NMS with no alterations, then nothing gets damaged when you traverse black holes or galaxies. Despite all that, I have bases in a dozen or so galaxies...not much desire to expand to any more. 🤷‍♂️

@@theguylevi I mean, who still has a save from version 1.0? Not this guy. But you can use any ship for that, only the inventory panel gets damaged, not the tech panel, so use a ship with no tech in inventory, nothing gets broken. If you don't want to see all eleven galaxies, that's a choice, it does take awhile to see all of one galaxy... the further you go though, the less likely you are to find something someone else already found. It is an exploration game at it's core. But hey, you seem to know all this, enjoy the game how you wish.

I've gone through lots of these new upgrades and not a single good one.. then I realised it's "nms rare" witch really is rare unlike other games with rare item's. Just hope you don't have to look for a rare animal in a cave oh right it's very common for plants to have a rare underground creature... still nms rare can take 20 hours or more for anything good.

Where it says health is increased by 33%, it isn't. The numbers that show it increasing by a perentage are all wrong, and the ammount gianed is exactly the same no matter the displayed percentage. 1 plus worth of increase, regardless of what you have already. allowing for +13 now. +3 for classic upgrades in tech and in general for 6, +3 for sentinel upgrades in both, for 6 more, and the one from the crafted atlas path stone. -- I didn't catch it, did you mention that the weapon upgrade isn't just a tool-wide upgrade, but only applies to Boltcaster, not Splitter or plasma cannon, etc?

A popular one is to dump stuff you want to dupe in your exocraft (any of them), get in and out of your ship to force a save, take all the stuff back out of your exo and put it in your inventory, fly to space, go into the anomaly and transfer any item to another player, then reload auto save. You'll have the stuff you wanted to dupe in your personal inventory and the original stuff in the exo still.
