I wanted to come on here and comment my experience with using Odoban for this reason. Recently, we bought a used car for my son and it was previously owned by a smoker. We didn't think it was that bad when we test drove it - but after getting it home and having it for a few days, we realized the smell was just too much for us. I purchased 2 bottles of the Odoban spray (in the green bottle), 1 Odoban odor absorber and several Odoban mini solid odor absorbers. I followed the directions in the video. I cleaned every hard surface inside that vehicle - windows, dashboard, seat belt clasp, glove box, rearview mirror, etc. My son used our shop vac to vacuum the entire car - floors, seats, ceiling, the weird carpet area behind the back seats near the back window. After I would finish cleaning an area & my son vacuumed it, I would spray down the seat & floor and then move to the next area (driver area, front passenger, back left passenger, back right passenger & ceiling). We kept all 4 doors open during the cleaning process and it was a nice breezy day so once I sprayed down the seats & floor, it would dry pretty quickly. I got through the entire vehicle and then went back to spray down everything again. I did not soak the soft surfaces but I made sure they were nice & damp. I used an entire bottle of the Odoban spray during this process. I could not figure out where the air intake vents were for the car - I didn't see anything that seemed obvious in the foot area of the passenger & driver sides so I just made sure I sprayed the heck out of the carpet & hard surfaces in that area. We also used q-tips & cleaned all of the vents as another posted mentioned. We proceeded to run the vehicle like the video said. I will say, I am greatly impressed as the smell was virtually gone after this first lengthy process! The soft surfaces were pretty much dry after the 1st run of the car so I sprayed everything again and repeated. This helped tremendously. We sprayed down the new cabin air filter & reinstalled it after we made sure it was dry. I placed the Odoban odor absorber in the front center console area and then placed the mini solid odor absorbers in the back drink holders since they fit perfectly. The next day the smell was gone. There is still a smoke smell when we run the air conditioning - I think this is mainly because we just can't spray down the internal parts of the car. I plan on doin more research into the air intake vents for the HVAC so I can try and do better at spraying the Odoban in this area. I believe when we do that, it will completely eliminate the smell. The odor absorbers are also doing a great job. We are really impressed and so glad this was able to help us make our son's car bearable for us non-smokers! I am really glad I found this video so I hope my comments help someone else take the plunge and buy Odoban!

@@danielw24 sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I’m new to this. Getting rid of cigarette smoke from my truck. It takes a complete cleaning. From the head liner to the carpet. Every nook and cranny needs to be cleaned. All the vents, I used the long Q-Tips to reach as far as possible. Frame work under the dashboard and seats everything imaginable. When finished with all the cleaning then change out the onboard air filters. Also use a container (plastic tub) of OdoBan air freshener. It may sound like a lot of work, it took me a good day. But I’m very happy with the results. It has been almost two years now with no return of cigarette smoke smell. Hope this helps. Blessings.

Particularly, additional treatments to the headliner and in the recirculating vent system could be beneficial to getting the smoke smell out for good!
