This powder trick works beautifully. I stopped this trick for a while and went bank to it. Sure enough, it works so well in the Texas heat. Also, I just loved it when she was waiting for the setting spray to dry, tapping her fingers together. I laughed out loud. I haven’t laughed in at least over a year. Lost my 17 year old fur baby during Covid and just all the frustration. You’re naturally funny, I can tell. You go ahead and keep cute funny things like that up. Beautiful and funny? What a delightful combo. It really felt good to laugh again. Thank you Risa.

I’ve been using this method for a few weeks. I’m a nurse so I’m wearing a mask for 12 hours straight when I’m working. The only thing I do different is after the setting spray I put primer on then foundation and I’ve been using Mac fix plus or the It cosmetics setting spray and those seem to work just fine. I started using this method to control oil more than to prevent transfer and it works great for that too. It’s never occurred to me to use setting spray on my mask though, I’m definitely trying that when I go back to work Sunday. I’m interested to see how it does on the N95 mask because that one is super tight on the face. I don’t have to wear it much, only when I’m giving breathing treatments, but it’s on around 12-15 minutes so that’s long enough to know if I’ll get any transfer. Thanks so much for the tip!!

Everyone is different and if this method worked for most of you, that's awesome!

Hi Linda, I hope you won’t mind me jumping in here! I’m also 55, and had the same problem with my under eye area. A beauty therapist friend gave me this tip so I thought I’d share it with you. So, after all my make up is finished, I take the tiniest dot of Elizabeth Arden face and body oil (any face oil would do though), I mean the tiniest, and using my ring finger I very lightly pat it over my under eye area. It keeps the area from looking dry and allows me to go in there and pat out any creasing during the day. It works brilliantly for me. Maybe you’ll find it helpful too 👍

Would you consider doing a video with tips on how to apply foundation when dealing with retinol flaking? It's so frustrating. Looking at bare skin I think I've exfoliated everything off but as soon as I apply foundation all the flaking reappears and I literally freak out thinking I'm going to have to leave the house looking crazy. Any specific tips besides just "exfoliate" would be much appreciated.

Same here! I use retin-A and so many times I have had to wash off my foundation and start from scratch because my skin will literary start flaking and peeling with foundation on it 😩😩 And I always make sure to use a good moisturizer and it still happens. Very disheartening 😞

Try using the cerave healing ointment on areas where the dry patches are the night before bed. I'd apply the tiniest amount and see if you need to add more next time. It is greasy. A little goes a long way for me. I also use it on the back of my hands to from all the hand sanitizer & hand washing. You wake up with brand new hands & face.

I know it's been almost a year since this video was posted but I found it yesterday while trying to find a solution for my 38yo orange peel skin. I'm Brazilian, currently living in Ohio, and my skin is super oily. A few hours after doing my make up, with a closer look I could see "foundation dots" all over my face, which made me really self-conscious about the issue. I'm trying the technique today and hopefully it will help. I've just done my make up and all I can say so far is that it looks amazing. I used the Elf HD loose powder (sheer) and the L'Oreal Infallible setting spray. I'm gonna try the Urban decay All Nighter (vitamin C version) tomorrow. I'm really excited! I'm 41 about 2 years ago i was diagnosed with lupus... into that i am about 9 month into being a single mom youngest is 7 and autistic... when i finally left... i had to choose to leave fast and with hardly nothing. Before I was financially stable. But the abuse and narcissism was really had. Mentally emotionally and physically at times. There were times that I honestly thought my kids were better off if I didn't wake up. Sadly even writing this... i tear up. I still wonder if I'll ever get out of my head hearing him or the things I still think of myself. I really let myself go and lost me. I'm working 8n it but my kids come first... its not easy right now we are all living in a one bedroom my oldest has now decided he hates me and I haven't talked or seen him on 4 months. He is 21... he unfortunately believes alot if lies because i was very good at hiding alot and pretending things were okay. And I stayed so long because of my kids.. especially my youngest he needs alot and anyone with a special needs child i hope gets it. Anyways.. i used to have so muvh makeup. Ohhh too much. And i realize just how blessed I was. But ill never go back. Ever... anyways enough about my hot mess express. I dont try to spend too much on myself but my skin has done a 360 and I swear no matter what primer or foundation it seems to go into my skin I have pores now.. redness and breakouts. I had cystic acne years ago and have some scarring.. and holes. Yuck. But anyways I do get 3 or so breakouts every month .. dry skin usually. But now it seems to be a little oily and I thought with more mature skin it got dryer..idk. can you please help me or suggest maybe some foundation.. bases primers.. thats my biggest thing. I truly need it. I usually used the glory foundations but realized maybe I need to go to matte but am afriad of it showing my scars and things more. Any help im more than grateful. erikasandy2012@gmail.com @erikalynn_78 ( Instagram) Or old skool Erika Stewart 4283 King Harmon Lane Pulaski Virginia 24301 It would really mean alot to me.. I'm not the best at social media.. just really learning. Ive always had a Facebook and all just never really messed with anything other than Instagram because well I didn't want to upset my husband or give him any reason to take away anything ( and when he did he would take from the kids too because he knew it hurt me) so I did all I could just to make sure they always had what they needed. I am in no way looking for handouts. Just support. I have always loved makeup and hate to say this but when you go to an Ulta( only thing near me) and talk to a 20 some year old about what you need. Its hard for them to even know with their perfect skin and all. I have an Ulta gift card Im saving and realize alot of things are not available there and are sold at Sephora.... but I will do my best to get the bases. And would really appreciate it. I enjoy watching you when I get the chance and my youngest absolutely loves seeing all the beautiful colors and enjoys helping me to my makeup and swatching colors when I get the occasional newbie. God bless and hope u and yours are well and safe.

First, I know I’m a little late and I’m kind of a newcomer to your channel and I just wanted to recommend the fab pore 3 in one serum. I know it’s drugstore but I have tried many high end products as well and nothing I mean nothing performs like it for oily skin!

Would blush after the last light powder foundation have to be a powder blush, or would cream blush work as well?

Thank you so much for the setting spray on mask trick I would've never tried it, I also find that the EL foundation has the least tranfer with a mask but it still rubs off after a day at work, can't wait to try this !

You look beautiful here! Hair and makeup are on point! Do you have a hair tutorial for this gorgeous beachy hair look? Loving your hair color too. If you ever consider doing a hair tutorial, I’d love to hear what coloring your stylist uses. Is this considered balayage?
