Thank you so much for the tips, especially on the lighting! I'm still new to figure photography and really appreciate you working on videos that are specifically about it. Glad that you used galaxy camera for the demo too. 😊

@@MakigumoPhoto How do you make them stand without the plastic supports? I'm not good with editing.
@MakigumoPhoto6 жыл бұрын
@@airsonmanalad8377 I got a tip from another collector to use floral wire, and it worked really well for me. 22 gauge wire is strong enough to support a Nendo and even some scale figures. You can use that as a makeshift stand, and it's thin enough where you can hide it with camera angles if you don't wanna edit it out. A thin paper clip or something like that could work too, just need something you can bend and twist but will hold its shape.

hmm I can't comment on that particular camera as I don't have any experience with it. For beginners I would prioritize learning the exposure settings, so make sure the camera lets you set them manually. Then, I'd look at ergonomics. If you're specializing in toy photography I highly recommend getting something with an articulated screen because you'll be shooting at waist level or lower most of the time. Apart from those considerations, I wouldn't get too caught up with gear as a beginner. Just focus on learning, being creative, and having fun! If you find your camera holding you back, then learn how to work around it as a creative challenge.

MakigumoPhoto I’m not a person to buy a lot of accessories and stuff, just a camera and a action figure and that’s it. Thank you so much for your response! I appreciate it. I’ll keep learning more about toy photography.

Can anyone recommend some light bulbs? I heard that some light can damage the paint of figures so I am hesitant
@MakigumoPhoto3 жыл бұрын
I have displayed figures with a number of lights over the years and none of them have affected the paint (including CFL and LED bulbs). I'm reasonably confident saying if you don't put them under, say, direct 24/7 exposure, any non-incandescent bulb will be fine.
