Absolute engineering brilliance! I'm in the process of acquiring the gear I need to record to my laptop, and this info is priceless. As a guitarist of 47 years, I knew that with today's technology it had to be possible to get a good direct sound, but these tones are unbelievable! I found you through a Rick Beato video, and it was the best thing to happen to me in a long time. I can't wait to get my laptop studio happening! Thank you for your incredible contribution to music and for the love and time it takes to make videos like this to help others. You are awesome!

Those are some great eq settings for modern metal tones. Sometimes I have used a bit of warm bass frequencies for modern metal tones and leave out some sub bass frequencies like shown here for guitar.

Abuv Entertainment what do you recommend? Also, would it be better to get a Pc or Mac?
@abuventertainment28565 жыл бұрын
@@AlexGifford5150 It's heresy for me to say this being a PC user who's owned gaming laptops worth upwards of $2k... however I recommend a macbook pro or an iMac. You want a lot of RAM so it may be worth it to pay for the extra memory. 16GB is plenty but if you're on a tight budget 8GB can do the job reasonably well I imagine. Macs will give you a more fluent user experience, more longevity and are generally more reliable for those engaged in creative endeavours compared to a windows PC.
@AlexGifford51505 жыл бұрын
Abuv Entertainment haha I know what you mean! I am pretty strictly a PC person because that’s what we use at work and they have their merits. From what I’ve heard Mac is great for music and video editing. I will spend the extra to get good Ram. Thank you for the suggestions! I have been out of the DAW game for like ten years and am just now coming around to it again. I know plini used axefx before the plugin... do you recommend a particular program either pro tools or logic for this application? I think I’ll stay away from laptops just to keep cost down and I already have a decent laptop for everything else. This would be a strictly music computer.
@abuventertainment28565 жыл бұрын
@@AlexGifford5150 I would definitely say grab iMac then... I use the 27" iMac and it is the most ridiculously fast computer I've ever used, mine or not. It powers on in a matter of seconds. I went for the extra processing power too and don't regret all the extra costs. If you can afford it get the CPU that supercharged to 4.2GHz and you'll never need a new computer for like a decade it can keep up with anything. I purchased the computer on the apple website and also bought the software bundle that comes with Logic Pro X. However I still use a free software called reaper for the plini plugin and guitar tracking because i am more familiar with it and it gets the job done. I would recommend logic because of its simplicity but reaper is awesome and you can download it free. Also try out some free IRs and amp sims from lepou plugins - clean tones are not as good as archetype but it sounds amazing for free.

Hi guys love this upload, always interesting to see what someones doing behind the sound scape, I personally get lost in trying to figure tone and get left with sheesh was better an hour ago but cannot go back to where I started from coz that's totally forgotten ie; lost in translation........ How much time do you spend arriving at the perfect tone, do you find your just tweeting the already tones you have to keep in the zone and not get carried away off track so to speak........?
