Please don't come to the Maldives as a teacher; your career will end here. Economically, it’s not beneficial. You will get 15,000 MVR as salary, then spend 3,500 MVR on rent, 500 MVR on recharge, 1,000 MVR on food expenses, and 500 MVR on other expenses, leaving you with a balance of 9,500 MVR. You will need to spend almost 8,000 MVR for a ticket to travel to India. Altogether, your average salary will be 35,000 Indian Rupees.Your agents may tell many nice stories to attract you, but this only applies to teachers working on populated islands. These islands have a higher chance of localization, and at any time, you could lose your job. You need to work at least two years to get your service charge back. I worked eight years in the Maldives. Please, only come here if they recruit you freely; otherwise, you are going into a trap. If you have a chance to work in India for 35,000 Rupees per month, that is way better than this. Thank me later.
