CAMERA PREPARATION
One of the most important points for a good video quality is a clean lens. If you touch the lens with your fingers, smudged fingerprints on the lens may result in blurred videos. So make sure the lenses of your Insta360 ONE X2 are cleaned on both sides. A microfiber cloth is best suited for this purpose. I would recommend that you always have one with you to clean your lenses. To protect the lenses there is also the possibility to use a lens protector. I am not a fan of it, because without the lens protectors, a better quality of your shots is achieved.
Don't forget to insert your Micro SD card and make sure it is locked in place. Make sure your micro SD card is big and fast enough. I would recommend you to use at least one with 64GB of storage space. 10 minutes of recorded video material corresponds to approximately 8GB with the Insta360 ONE X2. The memory card speed is also very important. You must choose a card with Video Speed Class V30 or higher. Otherwise, the video recording may be interrupted or the video may be jerky. In general, I would recommend that you always have a second micro SD card with you. In the video description I have linked you a suitable micro SD card for your Insta360 ONE X2.
Get your ONE X2 ready. Insert the battery and make sure all openings are properly locked. Of course make sure, you have fully charged the battery.
To use the full power of the Insta360 ONE X2, it is necessary to use it in combination with the “invisible Selfie Stick”. The included 120cm (centimeters) Insta360 Invisible Selfie stick is best suited for this purpose. Attach your Insta360 ONE X2 to the selfie stick and the camera preparations are complete.
SETTINGS
This may surprise you, but there are no great secrets here. The first step is always to make sure you have installed the latest firmware. Insta360 is constantly improving the firmware software of the ONE X2, which often leads to better video quality. The easiest way to update the firmware is the Insta360 App on your smartphone. Just connect your Insta360 ONE X2 and check if a new firmware is available. If so, be sure to update to the latest version. When this is done, we can start with the actual settings.
Power on your Insta360 ONE X2 and go to the basic settings menu. Scroll down to "Video Encoding" and select it. When you click on “360 Mode” you can select the Video codec. You can choose between H.264 and H.265. Here you can decide for yourself what is better for you, the differences are only marginal. I personally record my videos in h.264.
The more important settings are the following:
Select the standard video mode for 360-video recordings. The most important thing is, that you set the resolution to the highest possible value. For the Insta360 ONE X2, that’s 5.7k. Also make sure to choose the highest possible framerate at the highest resolution, which is 30fps.
Then switch to the exposure settings. Set the exposure mode to Auto and make sure the exposure value is 0. White Balance to Auto and the Color profile to Vivid. And ready! That are the best Insta360 ONE X2 video settings for the maximum quality.

Great set of settings! I recommend the log mode to prevent overexposure. In post you have more possibilities to get the right exposure and color.

I would always keep the lens cap on regardless of where I put the camera. Also a 64GB memory card can get filled before the battery run out. I use a 128GB card and it last the battery.

I was watching the SpaceX flight with the 4 civilian astronauts and the huge dome. I'm sure you may have watched it too I could not stop thinking about the insta360 camera! It could take the best pictures. I wonder if you have any suggestions as to how to mount and use in the dome and the capsule itself. I bet you have some amazing ideas. It's a shame that they didn't know about the insta360

My Insta 360 X2 got water in the front lens after being under for 30 seconds for the first time. The battery and USB compartment was fully sealed. And the unit never got water in those areas. The front-facing lens is forever fogged with water. The unit continues to run fine, just with one camera forever blurry.

Before purchasing pls see their speed. Don't use cheap Chinese products. For better performance use Transteck or Sandiks 256 gb 4K memory card.

Better set it to LOG, if you're planning to match the colors with your other cameras. Otherwise, VIVID will give you a permanent uneditable footage.

I just bought the camera and i dont know if its me or i see the video quality very bad the iphone 2 looks better than this shit i did all the settings you have and still a blury i bought it because i did alot of research on 360 cameras and supposdly this was the best and i seen all this good videos with this camera and mine looks all blury i followed steps in how to improve the video quality and still looks bad i already update firmware clean the lense did all the 5k and 30 and still looks terrible
