How To Get The Corrupted Gauntlet Speedrun Combat Achievement

I recently went through the process of learning how to do Corrupted Gauntlet fast so I could get the Grandmaster Combat Achievement by completing CG in under 6:30 and wanted to share the information I found important. A lot of this may seem obvious but these are the items that held me back initially from getting the time.

the ca is all about rng. getting resources early, having a ranged demiboss in first 3 side blocks, hitting well enough. after 3 hours i got my first fast prep sub 3 mins, but my wep noodled and the fight lasted 4 mins. i hate ca's that rely this heavy on good rng.

Thanks for the guide. You recommend 12 fish, based on the average damage you take during the fight, but then you’re taking veng hits off the Demi bosses and always entering the room with less than 12? If I start the boss with less than 12 food, and need on average 12 to get the kill, aren’t I then more often than not going to run out, if I’ve took a 40 venge of a Demi, for example? If you see what I mean

You can actually grind the crystals into the dust for 2 potions, then drop the pestle and mortar right off the bat. Don’t need it to make/mix pots. Only used for the grinding of the crystals.

Took me so many reset attempts due to room layouts being sooo trash. Many times no fishing spots anywhere, or no mining spots... A few times there was literally only 1 small rat in the 8 room rotation.. which didn't even drop a frame. Many times resource nodes just don't give me enough shards so I have to waste time killing small mobs since no big ones around... And like 1/3 attempts there were no demi bosses on the side I check (sometimes I run to another side and no demi bosses there either...). Boss fight my weapons noodles all the time and boss just hits 13s through prayer like 8 times in a row.. sometimes I run out of food with 2 or even 3 redemption procs and not taking damage from tornados, floors or off prayer... Rng is a bitch with this speed run... finally just got lucky enough for the planets to align.

I actually just did this achievement and honestly, just 2 tier 3 weapons, 2 potions and 25 food is what did it for me. I ended with1 food left and around 25 HP so I don't know if I got a bit lucky or not but it's going to be close regardless

If you want to go full sweat, you can opt to tick eat some hits and also proc some redemptions. It will guarantee the kill, although these tactics are not necessary.

I tried it with 2 potions like normal and full inv of food, tick eat when possible. Only tried it a couple times then gave up (but i was close) i think bringing an extra 1 or 2 ppots and proccing some redemptions early in the fighy before things get sketchy is the play. Then the later part of the fight when things are a bit tougher just eat food and tick eat when possible. Gonna try this when i get home lol. Gl man!

Is corrupted gauntlet hard than vorkath? Silly question but I am looking to learn cg

I would say it's significantly more difficult than Vorkath. CG generally requires more up-front knowledge in order to prep properly in time and the boss fight is generally just more difficult as there are many more dangerous mechanics to worry about. Normal gauntlet is still more difficult than Vorkath but it is much less difficult than CG since you have more time and the final boss has easier mechanics and less HP

@@JosephsPlace tried the normal gauntlet, at 35 attempts and no kc yet , it's so clutch and you get decimated , there's so much going on that you find it hard to keep up I'm 99 range , mage and 90s in other stats

@@nipnik_ads8843 If you are struggling with just getting overwhelmed, I'd suggest looking up "Gauntlet Helper" on google. It's a site that you have to manually start when Hunllef starts attacking, but it will tell you when to switch prayers. Try not to rely on it too much but it can definitely help you get comfortable with the fight. I'd also suggest just forget about DPS if you're under 50 HP or if there are tornados out. Since normal gauntlet Hunllefs are fairly short, completely stopping DPS to eat to full or dodge can be very helpful

@@JosephsPlace will try your advice , I actually fail to keep my concentration up for some reason it's infuriating to die in the end after preparing for the fight , the best I got the hunllef was 99 hp which was purely based on luck

I genuinely don't get how people get this bullshit task done. I do sub 3 minute preps, usually around 2.45, T3 Staff/Bow, T1 Staff/Bow, 8 food and 1 potion. I haven't managed to kill Hunllef a single time before 6:30 and I'm maxed with Rigour & Augury and I do perfect runs every time so no unnecessary damage. Wtf is wrong with my account?
