I didn’t scroll to see if a similar comment is here, but to build the bond with your horse you can’t just press L. You have to press L when the horse responds correctly to your commands. Like an actual animal doing tricks, you have to reward it (with petting) to let them know they did it right. So in BOTW, when you’re turning and it listens, soothe it, or when you pull back on the analog, and it stops abruptly, soothe it.

The “centaur” is called a Lynel and I would advise you to stay away from them unless you have the proper equipment

I don't know if you still read your comments, but........ Have you ever tried feeding Din (your giant horse) Endura Carrots? By feeding a horse an Endura Carrot, you actually can give a horse 1 extra (temporary) spur, allowing it to run faster! This works on other horses, but does it work on this horse too?

For sure! Yess I have tried that with other horses, but not yet with the Giant Horse - will give it a whirl and report back! Does it make the horse go faster as well? I thought it increased the stamina by allowing for a few more spurs.

BethanyPlays When a horse uses a spur, it's going to go faster (temporarily because you used a spur). The horse's speed will go back down once the speed boost expires, but the giant horse has a high running speed already; the only reason why it would be marked ⭐️⭐️ speed is because they measure the horse's size compared to how fast it runs, making the giant horse appear slower than he is. The only thing about this horse, though, is that it's a beast of a horse! With its size (the size of a horse, but just about doubled) and the ability to do QUITE A BIT of damage when it rams something, I can see why the developers didn't give it any stamina to start!

Oh duh haha you are right, I haven't had the time to play in a few weeks and clearly it has been too long! The greater the spurs the more stamina, but each spur does increase the speed for a bit - EXCEPT with the Giant Horse, apparently :(. I just tried and there were no spurs to be seen. Womp womp. It would be quite the powerhouse if you could increase the speed/stamina as well!

Welll they each have their advantages but I definitely find myself zipping around on Zelda's horse way more often! When I know I want to take out enemies on the way without being too bothered by them, I take the Giant horse, but I guess I am just a speed demon at heart! What about you?

A few days ago, I caught the Giant Horse and wanted to keep it, but I found myself in a tight spot. See, I already had 5 horses, all of which I adore and to let either go would break my heart, sooo I took the only logical course of action and created a new save file. My initial goal was for the Giant Horse to be my first registered steed right of the plateau, but that plan was derailed when I found myself a 4-3-4 horse, whom I named Bane. I then went on to attempt to tame the giant, which was also derailed since I got run over and died. Stocking up on some stealthy food and then I'll give it another shot! Thanks for the video, have been looking for one like it for a while, and it puts me at ease to know I can just run past those pesky Lynels and not have to fight them yet!

I LOVE thinking of the Horse as a Mare!!! The icing on the cake Great KZbin - took a cpl to nail the landing from the paraglider - even though she isn't a speed horse - her stride is so large she covers more ground faster and is fantastic Battle Horse... without extra training will attack all foe - not afraid of fire, charge, trample, rear and strike, double shot rear kicks, whatever it takes - and when being attacked doesn't react to boblokins arrows - stays true on course ad gets it done - again her stride is so huge - she goes up rock sides others balk at. we were cornered by a Striding Guardian, near central field, open space- my thoughts were how to get her out safely. She was thrown down cover for me on foot - intentionally shielded me till I made it to a dif area - than came dead gallop - to pick me up and off we went. I like to hunt with her in the snowfields - except she doesn't get to distant kill fast enough and the meat freezes - I have the white Stallion and a Wild Black - that I use the ancient saddle and bridle with - so I can teleport him Any Where 4-3-4 or 4-3-5 horse.. ancient bridle kicked him up to 6-3-6. several times I have "rescued" a pinto or appy - after battle on the snowfields - primarily - and use them to hunt - bareback etc.. they stay right with me even in Rito and at shrines.. only leave at the Stables.. LOL.. oh!! I had my favorite Stolen and killed and Ate before my eyes up on the Main Plateau - at the Old Man's lodge... horse was there with a fire - daylight - I had cleared out enemies, was over by the trees planning best way to get horse down to the Grasslands... Yes its only a Game, Yes I am an Old lady... but the killed my Effing Horse!!! Hell No - I burned down - blew up every monster camp on the plateau then I had to reload to get him back I did not try the Fairy... LMAO

depression i was going too but i had a bad run in on a new horse and a gaurdian. It tripped up as i was sprinting it from danger and died haha. Didnt wanna risk that. Plus. Taking horses up steep mountains is fun and challenging. Hold LZ to target and just hop it around shallow slopes. Same way with taking it down a cliff.

I crafted 15 potions for stamina and I’ve been trying to get this horse for 3 hours. I’ll update if i get it update: I got the horse. I was pressing R instead of L that whole time. Also tip, Spam R and L at the same time to tame it faster.

i have since learned meat only freezes when its snowing... an endura carrot helps bump up spurs on each horse, regardless of tack. So why i am enthralled with the horse part, Actual Training Techniques, (ignore bad behavior, reward good a lot WORKS. The Software learns fast, 3 rd time you do a behavior with rewards it becomes habits, this giant mare swoops in and scoops me up tosses me on her back when i whistle from battles..i did not train that... she will go ANY Where which can be dangerous. Btw i used Ancient Armor on my Black Stallion, the War Pony, he's 4-3-4 with armor, 4-5-5 armour & carrot 4-7-5! I took him to Great Plateau, was in cabin reading journal monsters Stole My Horse!!! he screamed by the time i got outside he was gone... off the map.. got him back....
