Defekt? Läuft es denn bei dir? LG, Vanessa🤘

cca year 2000 I drove to near town to get Live double cd..driving home, Jailbreak comes..I enjoy Angus's intro, admire, taking it in..and then out of nowhere Mal comes in with his chords..I mean, I have the same feeling now writing about it, like I had the first time..I was melting, I tought my spine will crack in half because of that SOUND and tightness. What a legend Thanks to Mal, I used less and less gain over time, and only then I kind of connected with my instrument. Very nice video, my friend.. cheers! And cheers Mal, wherever you are.. For those about to ROCK!!!

I heard that Malcolm didn't use any distortion pedals; just turned the amp up loud enough to distort. Is that correct?
@disenchanteddad775910 ай бұрын
@@linuswang6572 Yes, to get his sound, it was mostly just the Gretsch into his Marshall cranked. BUT, with today's technology and research, we're able to get these sounds in pedal form, and even in "preset" form in a lot of DAW plugins. So while you'd ideally use Mal's setup to get "that sound", you might not have the space, or financial means, to buy up a wall of 100-watt Marshall Plexis and basketweave cabs to get the sound organically, in which case a good IR loader/cab-sim and a pedal like this will give you a nearly indiscernible tone.

Thanks for this video, very nice. Is it also possible to achieve Malcolm's sound using a single coil guitar like telecaster? If yes, what pedal and amp set-up will you recommend? I don't have enough budget for a 2nd electric guitar, so hopefully I can use my tele to capture his sound. Thanks.

I made a Malcolm guitar out of an ibanez semi hollow with a single gretsch pickup, a volume knob, and wrapped the heavy strings around the tailpiece. It’s pretty close through a 50 watt jcm800 and I can beat on it all night

Hi Sascha, great video , thanks for sharing and nice tone and playing , I have ordered that pedal . Can you give me an idea what your amps actual setting were for the video please. Master vol , pre amp, mid , trebble, bass, presence , i am using a Gretsch G6131-MY malcolm young signature guitar and a Marshall JCM 800 LEAD SERIES STUDIO Sc20c 20 watt combo Thanks Geoff
@SRguitar2 жыл бұрын
Hey Geoff, Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video! The 45 Caliber is a great pedal. I cant't really remember the exact settings, but you can check out my latest video about the Origin20H. There I show my most common settings. The JCM 800 should have a different sound than my amp. I would set it up as clean as possible and the rest does the 45 Caliber :)

Malcolm Y used a lot of s.c cowboy chords, chords with open strings. To make this sound good I reckon its important to have a guitar with a zero fret so you get an even sound from all the strings. Unfortunately not many manufacturer do this. And thats a mystery because with e zero fret you'll get the lowest possible string action and best possible intonation.
@SRguitar2 жыл бұрын
That’s totally right! His signature guitar also has a zero fret.
@vedranradonja85102 жыл бұрын
Heavy strumming, low action, that should cause the string buzz, but on overdrive we dont hear that? Are you agree with that? Thanks
@HTech123 Жыл бұрын
Very convincing. But you'll play different through a 100.000W PA system! That's also part of that sound!

But malcolm and angus never and do not use pedals or effects, they their sound is caused by the Marshall!!
@SRguitar Жыл бұрын
That's true! But there are multiple ways how you can archive a certain sound. Also if you play at home you probably don't want to crank a Marshall with a 4x12 cab ;)
@kennyh5083 Жыл бұрын
That ain't it! It lacks the balls and punch of Malcomes sound, maybe add a pedal too?
