Just don't fast-travel to DZ West like I did, otherwise it screws up the quest - I couldn't activate the last statue.

Thanks you lead the way to get those keys and to found the hunter through the lion statues. In fact, the hunter using skills to try kill me but the outcast enemies finished him simply. Finally i got mask

The hardest one was in NYC with 4 hunters at the same time. I had to do it 5 times before I finally got them all. Had to lower it to normal though then wailed on them with the grenade launcher took out 3 of them at once and lust lit the last one up with my Famas. Had to slap together a Tip of the Spear build with emperor's guard and Belstone holster for armor regen.

You weren't quite clear, if defeated, you have to get all 6 lion eyes again? Or just activate statues again? Or just last statue again? Also, you said you were running protection from elites build but he was still nearly 1 shot killing you, so does that build not really help against hunters?

you have to do it all again last time i checked. And I assume the protection from elites is what stopped him from being 1 tapped. Hunters do absurd per shot damage even on Normal difficulty (I wouldn't have tried solo heroic all directives but I'm not him lol). The fact he was caught in it's line of fire before changing cover and that hunter didn't vaporize him is probably down to that protection.

Okay, I just ran it, on normal (I'm no sadist) and got it. I made sure I had shock ammo in my st elmo's engine and he went down easily. Thanks!

For people saying they can’t interact Make sure to NOT travel to a DZ checkpoint It will delete you progress The keys you claimed before traveling will be deleted and you have to go back to get them So just avoid fast traveling to DZ

8 off-white keys will open up the chest for the hunter killer chest piece and full black dye in wony.

Most of them don’t work for me and I have tried doing at night clearing all npcs around clear all control points still don’t but I do have a level 40 boosted character don’t know of that makes a difference

Yeah@@NothinButSkillz I was running Heroic, all directives in order to farm red stars with a Hot Shot build. After the 5th Lion, I swapped to a St Elmo's Striker, and I wasn't able to activate the last Lion. When I tried it without changing gear, it worked.

need some good gears and weapons, then you'll be ready - i took out 4 hunters when they spawned together just the other day, its possible.

Got to the last lion and it wouldn't activate. Retraced my steps and all lions had reset. I didn't die, didn't change anything and didn't start any other missions. What a joke....

You can do them on any difficulty, just make sure your doing it at the right time

If you just want the masks save yourselves a lot of trouble and just swallow your pride and complete them on Normal difficulty.

True true. I tried two times on challenging with 3 directives and I basically got distracted by some npcs spawning behind me and shooting me while I was fighting the hunter. Ended up getting killed by the hunter's hive. Later on tried it on normal and it was a piece of cake.
