@@NormanPayneEverythingtravel maybe in your part of the country, they operate differently. however, in los angeles lax airport they are very rude and assaulted a friend of mine with a chair and he followed every detail by declaring what he had. it was in the secondary inspection he got insulted and assaulted and after the incident he was told to get out of here. the cbp complaint form does nothing to address abuse. you can check yelp and reddit reviews on lax airport and many others. certain groups of people are usually harassed, many cbp officers have a habit of abuse of power and a very corrupt structure.

Hi ! love the video ! I was wondering if you might know the answer to this question. ❤ I am a citizen of the US and I am traveling international for the first time and I was wondering how many times would I be going through customs? My flight schedule has two layovers. One in America and one in another international country before reaching my final destination in Norway. Starting USA to USA connecting flight - to international connecting flight to - Norway I'm a bit nervous haha but your video has eased some of my nerves ! Thank you 🎉🎉
@NormanPayneEverythingtravel Жыл бұрын
You will only go through customs when you leave an airport. If you are just switching flights you will not. Now this is different if you are switching planes through Atlanta returning from an international flight. You will go through customs in Atlanta, and then go re-board a flight. I hope this helps.

You always have immigration and customs at the first point of entry into a country. If your layover is in the US and then you go to another country, your immigration and customs is when you land in the international airport. If you fly to another country and then have a layover, then it will be after the first leg of your flight. The exception is Canada. You can actually do it in Canada before boarding your plane. Special relationship.

Thank you for the video. This might be a stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway. I'm planning on my first International flight later this year. My question is. If I bring personal items, such as iPad, cell phone, tape recorder, charging cables, camera, and clothes that I've owned for years. Do I need to "declare" those when I arrive at customs in another country? The country I plan on traveling to is England from the USA, and they have a 390 British pounds threshold worth of personal exemption before you need to pay duty (VAT). It's vague, as it doesn't state what items need to be declared (other than food, alcohol, or cigarettes). I'm confused. If that's true that ALL personal items need to be declared, I never hear anyone discuss this. It would be a mighty hefty tax bill, LOL! Please advise.

Same for me. i m going to fly out of USA. According to Japan Border Custom declaration form, all personal effect and household items such as clothing need to be declared and under the dollar amount threshold of Japan. I am waiting for their answer from philipine border custom. i asked them "do i have declare 30 T-shirts, 5 pairs of jean, 5 pair of underwear, 1 used hat?"

hi! i went to italy and didn't have to fill out any of these forms. i bought a few boxes of chocolate at the duty free in milan airport. lol did i do something wrong? also, i can buy chocolate in belgium and bring it back, right? it's not on the no-no list for customs?

Most people do not claim anything. But you are supposed to claim your purchases. And yes you can bring chocolate back from Belgium but only if you bring me some!!!

@@Baldbeautifulmyrandaj Everything? Like my toothbrush and underwear and the nail clippers in my purse everything? There must be categories. I have been able to reach the customs department in the Bahamas, and they did tell me the gift I’m bringing doesn’t need to be declared, so I don’t think the form is intended to list every item you packed.

I have a few serious international travel questions, and the airport can't answer them when I called to ask. I have never traveled internationally in my life. So I don't fully know what to expect when I arrive. I have obtained a Algerian visa, which was not easy to get. I couldn't make that flight a year ago when my host sent me a invitation letter to come. The expiration date says it's good till July of 2024. Can I still travel there even know its been a year since i got the invitation letter from my host and he's still good for it? I also don't know what questions the Algerian customs will ask me?
@steventravels4035 Жыл бұрын
As long as you go before the expiration date and return by then, there shouldn’t be a problem but, I’d recommend asking the nearest Algerian consulate to you if you have any questions or concerns as well.
