Using the subway to get to Grand Central Madison? Easy! The entrance at One Vanderbilt is the most direct route.

Agreed. Btw there’s also the entrance through the dining concourse in the main terminal that you can use to get from the train to the LIRR.

Came into Grand Central Madison a few days ago. Wanted to transfer to the downtown 6 train. Took me 15 minutes to walk over. I had to go many floors up. Long walk north and east to 51st street. Wow, I literally saved no time vs. going to Penn Station and catching the 1 train downtown. Does anybody know a way to walk east right out of the LIRR train tracks in Grand Central? If you take the long escalators up it takes you towards Madison and 47th, which doesn't help.

Well you could but the LIRR is much quicker than the (E) hence the reason for the higher price. Your main concern should be the actual Airtrain, which is a whopping $8.25 for one ride.

Why couldn’t they make the concourse closer to 42nd instead of by 45th
@aqua2poweros699
@aqua2poweros699 Жыл бұрын
1. Grand Central already takes place at 42nd st 2. The concourse is deep because they didn’t want to disrupt MNRR service above them (hence the huge escalators being built)
@stefano3202
@stefano3202 Жыл бұрын
@@aqua2poweros699 I understand the deep part, but the new concourse is already so deep that pushing it further towards 42 wouldn’t have been an issue. It just makes for a longer walk to the subways

Ig they thought it was more convenient to place GCM on 45-48 than 42-45. Idk. But it’s still not as bad imo.
