By going through an unlocked gate, does that mean it's private property?
@philphriday3 жыл бұрын
That’s a great question, and it may well be, however the closest house is way up high in the hills and every beach in st Martin is technically public which means you need to be able to access it. So it shouldn’t be a problem. When I went I just said hi to the cows and kept walking.

Thank you Phil for the directions. As a hiker, I am utilizing my July staycation to discover more of SXM, since Covid 19 changed my travelling plans.

Ms. Simplicity that’s great that you are finding a positive activity during a negative time. Let me know if you find any spots I should check out the next time I’m able to come back to SXM

@@philphriday Thank you . I haven't viewed majority of your videos. However, have you visited the natural pool? Or, the little islands in the middle of the ocean by oyster pond? I walked through the water to the little islands. The sea blast there is great for lovely pictures.
@philphriday4 жыл бұрын
Ms. Simplicity I regret not going to the natural pools every time I’m there. I always have work on the French side so I really don’t know that part of the island as well. I need to change that. And I will absolutely try to check out that place near Oyster Pond!

@@philphriday Now that I have browse through some pictures & videos they showcase the French side. Change is good. I'll gather a list to assist with your "to do Dutch-side Adventure". Once work permits it, you will definitely enjoy both the Dutch & French sides.

Thanks for sharing, been living here for 24 years and haven't made any time, but Covid 19 encourages many to staycation. Maybe the time of year you was there the Sea takes back the sand around November the sand fills back on most beaches around the island

Always enjoy your videos. They give me hope that I will once again visit one of my favorite places in the world. Hey, what's the story with Orient Bay? Is it coming back to life? Now that the Orient Bay Beach Club is done, are there still naked senior citizens parading on the Beach? How's Marrigot looking? Did you ever eat at Mario's Bistro. I'm sure it got wiped out by Irma, just wonder if they rebuilt? Let me know what's going on my favorite Island? Keep up the good work. Like I said, you give me hope.

The beach is still in use and the beach bar is up and running - as you note the Beach Club is destroyed.

@philphriday5 жыл бұрын
Jeff Link it’s a pretty easy “climb” down. Just be safe!

03/12/20 We found it or at least we came very close. The terrain is not what this video looks like it is. There is much more vegetation. Finding the exact place to descend to the lovers beach is problematic. Word of advice. WEAR HIKING SHOES or least tennis shoes. We didn’t, making us second guess our trek. So, we never made it to the waters edge. Next time, ????
@philphriday4 жыл бұрын
Rick T. The terrain is dependent upon what time of year you are there. This was filmed during the dry season. But you are correct about being cautious and wearing proper footwear, especially during the time when the grass long.
