How to get to Rungis Market in a Truck

This is the route I use most often when heading to the Rungis market in Paris. The video explains the route & shows the junctions along with landmarks to look out for on the way in. The last, most difficult part is shown in more detail during the last few minutes & takes you right up to the toll boxes at the peage.

Very well done Ben. I remember when visiting France, I really, really hated going through or around Rouen. I've visited the place, driven through the centre of the city, but I still hate it with a passion. I even used Google Earth to "drive" the trip on my computer, to get over my phobia. So when satnavs came out, I was so over the moon. Anyway, the first time I visited Rouen with the satnav, I laughed myself sick. I drove round a bend, and the road split into two, and I kid you not, I'm sure the safnav lady stuttered as she wasn't sure which way to go, and it was on the very last yard that thankfully, we were in the right lane, and she confirmed by telling us to go that way🤣🤣🤣

at 10.28 you turn into a 1 way system the wrong way, those little white arrows should be the hint.

The 1 way system is pretty irrelevant in Rungis as most RHD trucks will drive the short distances “the wrong way” rather than cause chaos blind siding onto difficult bays.

Excellent as always Ben, two questions. 1) Quite a few of your previous vids you ignore the one way system around Rungis. Is this ignored by Rungis and other drivers ?, any penalties if caught ?. 2) You arrive Sat pm a lot, then start 10pm Sunday and after Rungis drive 300 kms to early morning drop Monday. What works best in terms of sleep ?. Do you do normal sleeping hours 22.00 till 06.00 or stay up all night and sleep Sunday all day. I’d be falling asleep by 4am Monday whatever i did 😂. Thanks as always, safe travel

Drivers tend to reverse on the “drivers” side to make it easier than “blind siding” it in so it’s pretty much accepted as long as you’re careful & it’s usually only other trucks about at the time anyway 😉 Sleep is a difficult one so usually grab a few hours Sunday afternoon/evening after a long lie in then work through the night.

I’m not sure mate as we don’t have DKV. There is a “Rungis card” available though but we haven’t got them yet 🤷‍♂️
