No, only people with GMC license can sit in the MSRA exam.

You can sit for the exam prior to your plab exams yes, but you must have GMC registration/license by the time your training starts if you make the cut. I wrote mine[September] whilst preparing for my Plab 2[November], so I had my GMC license ready in January. Hope that helps

I know people have used it. I didn’t need it because medicine questions were easy. It was the sjts that most people struggle with in order to get a high score.
