Unlikely this will work with any serious contested asset. This is just a legal family law ploy to bill for 3 days. Any asset or home is going to be negotiated. Even if one of the parties is very wealth and can afford to provide a home for a spouse; your lawyer is going to make a settlement offer you sign or re-negotiate. Being locked in a room is so uncomfortable and does not mean optimal settlement. Just means someone compromises under a time constraint. Might not work.
