I have some question With respect to the procedure . first of all is it necessary to wait for our current study permit to expire and then applying for a flag pole or we can apply once we have our transcripts , secondly do we need to apply post graduate work permit online and then start the procedure of flagpole or can we go directly for the flagpole at border….. Any help will be appreciated

Well my spouse had to have her job and 3 payslips, I had no job offer prior to flagpoling as it is not an requirement for spousal common-law open work permit sponsorship Different types of programs have different requirements though and I know that for most of them, the job offer was a requirement during the 2020-21 covid lockdowns

I am a student with student permit just completed my studies and planning to go for flagpoling with my all college documents to change my status to pgwp. But I also want to know that my husband who is already on open work permit can also do flagpoling with me so that his open work permit also gets extended with my PGWP?? Please advise if any idea.

Hi there, thank you so much for your video. That’s really helpful. Could you please let me know where I could find information on port of entry, such as when it is open. My husband wants to apply for his open work permit. He has applied for this online and can not provide his biometric collection during the pandemic possibly except port of entry. Hello! We are extremely happy that it helped you! You can get information about the port of entry's from the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA). On this page, you can see the current border measures and you can find a phone for them. Currently, they are probably closed due to the COVID countermeasures. I have looked up on this website and it seems that we need to go to the POEs in either Montreal or Ontario for applying for an open work permit. But we are in BC now. Possibly we need to make a phone call tomorrow for more information.

Hello, I entered Canada with my wife. My wife has a student visa and I entered Canada with a visitor visa. I applied for a work permit online, but so far I have not received any answer. My question is, is it possible for me to go to the border of Canada and America to work? Can I get a permit?

You can't work unless you have a work permit.

It's merely an administrative refusal which doesn't have an impact on your future travels. Flagpoling is common practise how to reach the point of entry to Canada

@@pjthakur9256 just explain that you were doing flagpoling. No worries what so ever. You'll probably get a stamp in your passport. Just be honest and all be okay. It's all legal.

If you mean the thousand islands crossing, honestly, I am not sure, but since its in the middle of nowhere, I wouldn't go there without a car. If you want to cross near Niagara falls, then I think yeah, you can walk trough

Not sure about that. Students visa are way different then working holiday work permit. Check canada.ca

@@alexparx1501 Hi, Yes, We need visitor visa to enter Canada, and than any type of US visa is required to Flagpole. Flagpoling can only be done to change the visa status for Indian citizens.
