Hey would you cut my fingerboard (rosewood, for Custom guitars) in 2...? It’s Thickness right now is 1/2 inch... and l need to have 2 pieces at 1/4 each... My small bandsaw is good but l wouldn’t trust it for such small and precise cut... If my cut is not straight, l have to run them thru planer, so in the end l’ll lose more wood and maybe end up way under 1/4”... Please k if u can or have the time to do....- and want to do it... Thank you so much.

We are not really set up to do contract work. We build the machines to order and my customers do the cutting.

I have an 9” inch mostly plastic bandsaw I’m going to try this without the guides oh yeah it’s a Ryobi .

Aren't the guides there for making curved cuts so that the blade doesn't twist?

guides certainly help with that. We even make a few machines specifically for radius cutting. Most of our customers are making straight cuts.

I appreciate the information and demo my only concern is the operator is standing in an unsafe position, I know bandsaw blades do not break often but it has happened to me a few times in my life. It breaks at the weld and when it does the blade continues to travel with the broken end usually slamming into the table and unrolling off to the side where this operator was standing.
