@BlackMensBeard8 жыл бұрын
what have been some of your set back
@76yami8 жыл бұрын
The first was a barber i used to go to didn't follow my instructions and took it upon himself to trim me and took away precious length but i finally started gaining again until recently i had to get back surgery so from me fearing the unknown, being nervous and over thinking about the surgery i was stressing myself out and subconsciously was pulling at the hairs on one side of my chin which then formed into a habit,,,,long story short the hair was broken off, damaged and pulled out leaving a big patch smh how could i be so dumb you may ask but hey stress makes you do dumb things plus you know what they say "stress kills" and come to find out it also kills your beard lmao. I've since had the surgery which settled my nerves and was able to kick the habit so i,m now in beard damage control trying to nurture it back without having to shave it and start from scratch. Its going well now with a lot of TLC i,m finally seeing progress i will make a full recovery,,,about a months growth set back but a recovery none the less. Anyway beard on and stay blessed king

@BlackMensBeard3 жыл бұрын
Hey man! When living out west, it's important to keep your body hydrated as much as possible. Be sure your daily water intake is up to par. Secondly, you want to be sure you're hydrating your beard as much as possible. A routine that includes a beard conditioner as well as a leave-in hydrating conditioner is ideal! @goytabr8 жыл бұрын
Brandon, you're tops! Thanks a lot for the tips, and I've already subscribed. Now you look at my profile pic and wonder, what is a white man doing here? Well, I *look* deceptively Caucasian, but that was only an accident of genetics. I'm from Brazil, where most people are mixed-race in varying (and totally random) degrees, and I actually have *tons* of African blood as well. My African genes appear in my beard - I have a black man's beard, in fact almost identical to yours (when you handled it in close-up in that avocado video, I was amazed at how similar it is!). I'm trying to let it grow longer now and most tips I can find are for European beards and don't work with mine. Barbers here are rarely trained to work on African beards - they tend to trim it too short trying to disguise their "blackness". That's all they know how to do and that's exactly what I don't want. Care products, from electric trimmers to shampoos, are also all made for Caucasian hairs and beards. So far the best results I've got were with almond oil and that "stimulator" flat comb, but I'm sure to incorporate your tips as well. The results are impressive, you have an awesome beard! Thanks again, and I wish you all the best. :-)

Eat better and drink more water. Only use products that is for beards. B says You need to be gentle with your beard as well. Mine is not that long but I was having the same problem.using his tips really helped.
@palmer9118 жыл бұрын
What I found best was to take daily multivitamins, workout, stay hydrated and overall live a healthy or semi-healthy lifestyle to get your beard proper. Staying hydrated and beard oils should minimize breaking but it'll happen from time to time. Also, not combing aggressively but thoroughly. Oh yea ditch plastic comb, wooden comb or a handmade comb (Sawcut by Kent).
@BlackMensBeard8 жыл бұрын
Our hair will shed however, you shouldn't have excessive shedding. Secondly do not use coconut oil. Get some jojoba oil. Stop using AFrican Olive Miracle it is not formulated for your beard nor is it healthy for your face. Use Beard conditioner. How often do you wash it?
