ok cool, but how do you put them back on and them be at correct possition. i removed my e30 needles and when put back on temp and gas gauge are way off.

@@Joshis_here1 lol I'm glad I had a junk cluster to practice on. I ended up pulling it off and it snapped back in place. I had one that wouldn't come off though but it worked out OK in the end

I have done this on more than 400 clusters. Trust me this is the corect way. And an E23/24/28 cluster is WAY DIFFERENT than E34/39! I know what im talking about

Hello Ivo, I tried this and it just keeps turning counterclockwise without getting loose. I have a 1986 528e. I accidentally bent the needle while turning it over on microfiber towel. Wondering if you have a replacement needle I can purchase. Hope the motor is still ok.
