Your video was very helpful regarding how to create in press ready and how to add the extra margin. I have been looking all over to find a simple answer for the create and print format. Thank you!

Thank you! I just found out how to create outlines of the text. In Affinity, it's Create Curve feature. You still have your font even if the print shop doesn't. Nothing more frustrating than seeing a missing font in action or the print shop didn't have your font. I'm so excited! Thanks again!

Excellent tutorial, I have a question since Affinity Designer now comes with bleeds. How do we set up and add bleeds in the updated version of 1.7? Thank you:)

How do you set up and export a file ready for print with separate layers for white ink and colour

Thanks. I usually just keep artboard the same size as the print. and export CMYK PDF with "chop mark". This way, no need to add BLEED setting

Loving your videos! Thank you! I do have an issue maybe you can help me "solve". I've been selling digital items on Etsy for the customers to print how they wish. I just recently discovered while test printing that there can be different print dialogs (settings applications) for printing on the same pc. When I double-click an item and select print, I get a light not very in-depth result. When I right-click an item and choose my printer, I get an in-depth result but it comes out almost too dark. I've tried CMYK vs RGB with and without ICC profiles embedded. The best result I seem to get, but still lacking in-depth, is double-clicking (photos print dialog) with RGB and ICC profile embedded. That's just some info to explain what's happening. My concern is customers have all sorts of applications, printers, and monitors. How do I make certain they will have an almost perfect print as compared to what they see on their screen? Or is there a way that I can guarantee my work will print the same everywhere? I'm doing my research and learning plenty, but haven't found an answer yet. I feel if I can't come to terms with this, I may have to quit selling printables. =/

Hi, Great tutorials. However, how would I add "score marks" in the same outside area as the bleed marks?

Hey, im printing a large poster, so I set my dimensions to 24 x 36 inches. Then when I export it, the pdf file is 8-10 MB usually. Is that normal or should it be smaller and i'm doing something wrong?

It depends on how detailed the work is and if it's vector. I've had plenty of work in that same file size range.

Isn't the value for 1/8" 0.125? You said it's 0.25, that is incorrect if you're working in inches. @9:13

.125 on each side so adds up to .25 total

Your tutorials have been so helpful! I am a newbie using Affinity. If I were to print it from home what settings would I use? When I save/export the file as a PDF the font comes out super dark and thick. Also when I zoom the document the letters look pixilated. When I send my files to a professional printer I don’t get that clean smooth font like in your screen is showing even when I follow their directions. Any tips on how to fix this? I feel like I am missing a step...has been quite disheartening 😪

Glad you're enjoying the videos. :) Are you converting the text to curves before exporting? If not, that could be the reason it's changing after exporting. Make sure the DPI is 300 as well. Anything lower than that can cause quality issues. Hope that helps. :)

Thank you! Yes, I convert to curves. I have a feeling Affinity Photo is not the best program. I don't have a vector program (I'm hoping to purchase Affinity Designer) maybe that'll make a difference? Thank you for your response! :)
