Hello doctor I gave birth with c section n when I was expecting my second born my midwife ask me to do plan of delivery. N she forced mi to go n give birth on c section again at 8 months I refused until I get on my labour days n when I get at the hospital I gave birth naturally n he was weighing 3.5 kg. They congratulated mi.🙏🙏🙏I really like your advice doctor

Hi Tamara. A classical incision means you have an inverted T shaped scar on your uterus (not just your belly). This is a contraindication to VBAC - meaning that it is not safe to attempt. You can request your medical records to verify this is the incision you have. There is no current study that I am aware of that gives a percentage to VBAC success rate with classical incision.

How much scar thickness matters for VBAC even if a reasonable gap between two pragnancies. I conceived after 2 years of my 1st pragnancy. Now I am 36 weeks pragnant. But scar thickness that was measured on 35 weeks and 3 days was 2.1mm. Is it ok if I wait for natural pains till my due date? Pls reply.

Hi. The incision type matters most when considering VBAC. Scar tissue can cause problems, but this usually isn’t known until labor. VBAC is very safe for most women and is recommended by ACOG. It is safe to wait until labor starts on its own for most women (“natural pain”). Please talk to your doctor about your specific circumstances as this is not medical advice. Best wishes!

i had first 3 normal deliveries but last year i get emergency c section. after 6 months i again concived now i m 37 week pregnant my gynecologist recommend me that she will try for vbac but i m worried becoZ my scar might be thin there not much gape between 2 delivries and i m under 40..can any one tell me is that vbac possible i want normal delivry..should i wait for natural induction i mean wait for 40 weeks??!!? On 21 may i will be admitted to the hospital for vbac delivry or might be c section.i m waiting for ur reply

Hi Shakeel. If your physician feels like a VBAC is safe for you then I would continue to discuss this with your doctor (getting ready for VBAC). Waiting for labor to start on its own is safe and recommended for most moms when attempting VBAC. I wish you the best on this journey!

Yes, the incision on your uterus matters. The incision on your skin might be different. Request your health records or talk to the doctor that did the surgery to verify which incision you have on your uterus.
