Chaya is so easy to propagate it's amazing. I usually do 1m long 1-2" diameter. The only thing that won't root is the the bigger branches 6" and bigger. I Thought could use them as fence posts, but they all failed and rotted.

I actually found out that the leaf distortion was just from broad mites, which are seasonal and only affect young plants. They feed on the rich sap in the spring and early summer, and go away once the rain starts. No treatment required, just extra watering and sunlight. 👍

Arent they prickly like stinging nettle?
@Grow_Everything5 ай бұрын
Only the wild varieties can sting actually. The one I have is the "Maple Leaf" cultivar which conveniently doesn't sting. It is also the most commonly cultivated variety for that reason.

@@Grow_Everything that's great news! I lived in the Yucatan for a year and we had the wild one I guess, great with scrambled eggs!
