how I ended up studying in spain at an international design school in barcelona. how to go to college abroad, how to move to europe to go to university and my personal experience studying in spain.
studying abroad doesn’t have to be a six month exchange program through your home country’s university. there are so many college education programs that are so much more exciting than anything you could have imagined, and when you find the right one for you, you end up feeling like life got you exactly where you’re meant to be. at least that’s what happened to me.

hey! first off I totally understand.. my parents were from outside of the US and I think without that oppurtunity to see other options I wouldn't have been considered it. But also I think that's what life's all about, following your passions, with flexibility and staying open to the possibilities

Schools in Europe are super cheap compared to the US. I want to go to school in Italy but what do I do with my ACT scores?

All schools in France follow the campusfrance procedure on campusfrance.org. The Netherlands uses studielink.nl for most public universities. Italian schools go through universitaly.it . While applying for schools the SAT/ACT was never asked for, it seems to be required just in the US, however it can be added to your profile as an academic reference. I never took it and had no problems getting into french schools.

Quick question! So I’m a sophomore in Texas rn and I want to study in Europe and hopefully eventually live there! My issue is I don’t know what European unis look at when you apply. Do they only look at your unweighted GPA or can you do weighted? Do they also need a SAT and ACT or do you need to take a European test?

I have EU citizenship, but I am an American because I grew up in the US. I know how to speak in my native language, Polish, but not how to write in it. My mom also changed my name so now I have a different name here in the US and a different name in Europe. If went to Europe I would have to either change my name to my new name here or change my name back to my old name- which is what my mom wants me to do, so the process for me is- or seems- as complicated as being an international student needing a visa 😂

hey! I think generally three months out.. but if you're applying to an international school you have to think about the visa. I started my application process over a year ahead of time and it was well worth it. Schools often give you discounts that way too!

hmm I don't know too much about going to university in the US if you're from another country as I sort of ended up doing the opposite. I would definitely suggest looking for videos and chat forums of other people in the same situation, and look into schools that are specifically geared to international student... my school in Spain is an international university and what was a big help! Also look into Minerva, its a traveling university and I know they do different options for financial aid. Hope this helps!

HI! im kind of in the same situation as you. (from the Philippines, 9th grade, planning to study in the uk, I do not have family there, and we definitely cannot afford it by ourselves) I am not an expert but I thought I can at least help a little. I dont know the reason you chose the US to study in but I do not suggest doing it (this of course highly depends on the situation if you really want to study there then go ahead) Education in the US is very expensive, this however does not make it impossible. In your situation I would just suggest to aim for high grades and participate a lot, this will increase your chances in getting scholarships. Basically just aim for scholarships and financial aid. I highly suggest looking for the different types of scholarships and such so that you know what to work on when aiming for it. consulting your parents is also a big thing, start talking to them about your plan so you guys can start to get ready for it and save even just a little money to make a dent in the fees (US schools are very expensive to go to :'D). and lastly do A LOT of research.
